Weather warning for heavy rain, Thursday and Friday (13/14th August)

sometimes it is not as bad as they predict

every weather forecast for my postcode says something different and while it has a weather warning atop each one, there's no "heavy rain" listed!! so confusing.

achieve6 we've got the weather warnings but no heavy rain forecast thing for Thursday as well. I think the rain will move up to where we are (Leicester) quite quickly but I'm wondering whether the metoffice don't want to give proper timings, so are 'covering all bases' at the moment and will refine the forecast properly tomorrow. 'Tis proper annoying though because we've got plans to go out on Thursday and don't know whether to postpone it or not.

hazeyjane looks like you might have to do that. Thursday's not great but Friday is properly awful for most of the day in the south.

Looks like my guess last night was right ~ looks like the rain has caught up with the weather warning for us!

Raintoday is showing the rain moving up from the south and looks like there are some thunderstorms in there already.
'Tis not going to be very nice for the next day or two for the South/Midlands.

East Sussex coast here & it's been raining & thundering on & off since about 5am.

Seems to be very slow moving.

We're in Kent - nothing so far. Mild, cloudy, no rain...I wonder if it will miss our little corner.

BBC changed our weather forecast yesterday, said heavy rain from 8am today. No sign of it. Not that I'm complaining

It is dark as night here, no exaggeration, & pouring with rain. Thunder seems to have stopped.

but blazing sunshine next week, yes?

It's so dark here, i don't really want to have to shut the curtains and put the light back on at 11am!

Jersey lightening last night

Not a lot happening here. There might have been a glimpse of sun a few minutes ago but other than that, it's surprisingly blustery, overcast and humid.
I hope something happens fairly soon ~ I postponed a trip to the zoo with DDs and my parents today because it was forecast for rain/storms and now the timing for rain to arrive has been pushed back to this afternoon.

Beginning to rain now. Not too heavy at the moment.

Streaming it down here in hants and think I just heard a rumble of thunder. Think the planned den building afternoon at local wildlife reserve is off!
