issued by the metoffice.

After a few days of summer, looks like Autumn returns. Yuck.

I'm actually quite pleased in the South. Lots of rain in the Channel, moving very slowly.

Rain and occasional thunder all day, quite dark. I've got plenty to do inside.

"it will do the garden good"

well unless it hissed down in the night here while i was asleep its a bit of a letdown

Pointlessfan · 13/08/2015 13:41

It's cloudy here in Birmingham but no rain yet. Driving to Swansea tomorrow - hope roads are ok.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 13/08/2015 13:49

Really heavy rain and thunder here all day so far in the south east. Poor dog hates thunder, he hasn't moved from his safe spot and is shivering. I hope it disappears soon.

magimedi · 13/08/2015 13:52

Well, we seem to have seen the last of it & the sun is trying to come out.

Incredibly heavy rain here (near Eastbourne) & lots of thunder. One house struck by lightning, Eastbourne's shopping mall closed & evacuated due to flooding & many roads flooded.

Sadly the airshow, Airbourne, has been cancelled for today but it is on tomorrow, Sat & sunday.

RatOnnaStick · 13/08/2015 13:52

Thunders going round and round, lost power for the third time today, torrential rain, it's funSmile

GloriaSmud · 13/08/2015 15:28

Report on the flooding experienced by Kent and Sussex here.
Metoffice have got an Amber warning out ~ don't think the 'orrible weather is over for the area yet.

sun beating down on the South Coast now, and electricity gushing out of the panels.

RatOnnaStick · 13/08/2015 15:42

Really? I'm above Romney Marsh and were currently experiencing our fifth power cut todayHmm and the wind and rain are going round and round. Currently dry but obviously not for long.

I've sent DH a message to bring back pizza for tea as I can't guarantee the oven.

PigletJohn · 13/08/2015 15:56

looks to me like it's passed

press the play button LHS under map

SusanMichelson · 13/08/2015 17:03

We have an amber for 4pm-9pm, worse than before which was blimming torrential for about half an hour.

B&Q carpark is flooded (always does) Smile

For once I'm glad we don't have a cellar any more. And that we had the roof fixed.

SideOrderofChips · 13/08/2015 17:26

We're due more storms tonight so i shall have my camera at the ready

hazeyjane · 13/08/2015 17:32

Camping cancelled due to car breaking down on the way - nothing like a day and half packing up followed swiftly by a day unpacking with no holiday in between.

No rain here today (wiltshire) just grey and muggy, but accompanied by the loud wailing of disappointed children and us trying to get our money back and not get fleeced by the garage.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/08/2015 23:04

I got a vicarious thunder storm over the womens ashes in canterbury via radio four, but the weather has been reasonably dry here with just a few spots of rain. (w mids)

GloriaSmud · 14/08/2015 09:55

Our rain started about 8.30pm last night and then became torrential from 4.15am (it woke me up!) for an hour or so before stopping. Now raining again but fine misty stuff ~ looking very damp and autumnal out.

'Tis looking loads better for the weekend and next week so just today to get through.
