Especially in central and southern England where winds could reach 60mph tomorrow afternoon. Not a day for doing lovely outdoor things!

Nooooooo. That's a bit unfair with the light evening after the clocks going forward. Who do I write to to complain?

OublietteBravo · 28/03/2015 20:41

Boooooo. DD and DS are away, and I wanted to tackle the garden.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/03/2015 21:04

It's a right bugger. Dry all week and then when I finally get chance to go in the garden bam.
Stupid weather.

Is it only for tomorrow? Will Monday be fine and sunny? please say yes

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/03/2015 09:14

TORRO have issued a convective discussion for strong wind gusts, CG lightning and the very small potential for an isolated tornado.

Tomorrow starts off pleasant (apart from northern scotland where it looks showery and cold) but by lunch time rain will be moving into the west reaching all areas by evening.

Thank you OYBBK

mateysmum · 29/03/2015 10:55

Blowing a gale in Somerset. Matey Dog and I had to fight our way along the Levels during walkies.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/03/2015 13:20

I've decided to accept the wild weather as a gift in that I can sit on my bum for a few hours rather than feeling guilted into gardening. It's quite pleasant to watch the wind and rain.

Got lovely & wet, freezing and muddy watching DS play rugby today.

nikki1978 · 30/03/2015 11:01

Bbc weather says the wind will increase from 20mph to 40 at 8pm.tonight in the south east then get worse over tonight/into tomorrow. Is this Correct?!

thisadhdmum · 30/03/2015 15:01

Getting a bit worried here in the SE. It was really windy yesterday and our playhouse nearly blew away! It's almost eerily calm atm but the weather report says the wind is meant to get to about 50mph this evening. I've never known that fierce a wind. I've gone and weighed down the trampoline and bought all the outdoor toys inside, is there anything else I should be doing?

nikki1978 · 30/03/2015 15:37

I am also worried as we have new double glazing sitting in our garden waiting to be fitted and i don't think we can put it inside anywhere! It's worth 1000s of pounds :(

Where's oybbk when you need her? Grin

jalopy · 30/03/2015 16:36

I've just listened to the weather forecast on Radio London and they haven't mentioned anything about the strong winds expected overnight.

Isn't that odd considering on the BBC website states that the wind changes dramatically from 11pm onwards?

nikki1978 · 30/03/2015 18:29

The met office now shows warnings for south east. Feck.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/03/2015 18:34

Sorry, been really busy today!! It has sharpened up rather for tonight hasn't it.

OP posts:
nikki1978 · 30/03/2015 18:36

Yes I think we are going to relocate the glazing part of the double glazing to the shed when dh gets Home. Just to be safe. Will it be worse than yesterday in the south east?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/03/2015 18:37

I'll be with you in about half an hour and will give a low down. Caught on the hop a bit with this one, was only expecting 45mph gusts max. Oops.

Hooray oybbk here to save the day! Wink Flowers

LineRunner · 30/03/2015 18:40

Kitten, I have battened down my garden as best I can. How bad will it be? Confused

thisadhdmum · 30/03/2015 19:03

I can't lie, I'm actually pretty worried. We've only recently moved here and the windows and doors are about 20 years past their best, and I'm surrounded by very neglected trees. I can't even imagine what 50mph winds will do, the other night when it was 25 or so I was up terrified the roof would fall in Blush I really must get a grip.

GloriaSmud · 30/03/2015 19:05

Signing in from a static caravan just outside York where the rain started 1/2 an hour ago. We're under the metoffice weather warning for wind as well so think it's going to be a wet and windy night. I hope I weighted everything down enough at home before we left!

PestoSnowissimos · 30/03/2015 19:15

I'm checking in on this thread too, t'was lovely here - outskirts of Brighton - this morning, but has turned pretty dire this evening where's the consistency

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/03/2015 19:23

ok, I'm back. Sorry to be neglecting you today.

oh golly Gloria - it does look quite wild around the yorkshire (and lincolnshire) area tonight.Other real watch areas are through the Bristol area and along the south coast.Wide spread gusts between 40-50mph but in those areas quite likely to see 60mph and perhaps a little more in some spots.

Not especially severe any where therefore but a long lasting gale, carrying on right through tomorrow, but not at the same level as tonight.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/03/2015 19:28

this adhd, it doesnt look much worse at all than yesterdays wind really. I'm uncertain as to why we are getting warnings tonight and we didnt yesterday.
