Some potential for ice over night.

I'm a little concerned about the potential for ice tonight for those in western parts - esp around Salisbury plain. It all depends on how much standing water there is after today's rain and how quickly the skies clear, but it does look as though in rural areas temps may drop below zero. So just be aware that you may need to allow extra time first thing tomorrow and take care - we are sort of out of practice with this cold weather stuff!

SE.

We had wind and rain start sometime in the middle of the night and it didn't stop until 3.30pm, apart from a moment at 7am, according to my Tesco delivery man who arrived at 11.30am. I and little dog didn't get up until 7.45am Grin
Never known it to never stop for so long and the end of our road turned into a large but shallow lake for the first time ever since I've been here for the last 16.5 years.
No more rain atm, 7.5 degrees out but cannot tell if it is a clear sky as no stars or moon to be seen.

Oh noooo. Sad

'Tis going to be a chilly night ~ temperature has dropped throughout today and is now 5C. I have covered my windscreen in case of frost and to help with a fast getaway in the morning!

Let's hope the local authorities are on the ball with gritting tonight! It's a bit borderline but there is potential for it to be a bit icy in places.

Rain rain rain everywhere today (Essex).

Still raining now, as far as I'm aware it hasn't stopped once all day

SE.
Clear sky and 0.3 degrees out. Local weather forecast promises dry till mi-day then rain again until 9pm when sky partly clears again.
What's that all about?

no idea digerd given that I don't think anyone other than NI and western Scotland will see any rain today.

Ice here in West Oxon - -1 degrees apparently and there is certainly ice on the roads (and car).

Warming up quickly now, though.

Met Check are suggesting that the 'beast from the east' is on its way.

Better sort all my woolies out for going up the fields for mucking out!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/11/2014 09:49

I'll have a look at that in a bit. I'm currently in online support hell due to my weather station website having gone down over the weekend.

Good gracious, they fixed it with no having to go in circles. Very impressive!

Well, they may possibly be on to something. I'll have a deeper look and update the winter forecast thread.
