OYBBK I know you are not an oracle but you're the nearest thing we've got on Mumsnet.

I am 29 weeks pregnant and struggling with London daily commute and the general vileness of living in a terraced house with no garden and no AIR.

Do you think it can last much longer? I would like a biiiiig thunderstorm and then overcast cooler conditions please.

Can I ask a question please to our two weather oracles?
Dd2 birthday party planned on Fri in the garden. It's a bit of shindig after a truly horrendous year. Forecast says heavy showers? We are in Abergavenny, SE Wales.

I'm doing a sun dance if that helps.

Thank you!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/07/2014 09:52

Sadly Tom it looks like your forecast sources are likely to be fairly accurate. However, there is a reasonable chance that you may miss most of the showers (but you also may not) I wouldn't worry too much until the day, it's a little low pressure that looks likely to cause the issues and their exact development can be a little tricky to forecast.

Norfolk? 8th - 15th August? We're staying on the coast... Smile

Bigglesfliesundone · 30/07/2014 10:31

Gosh that sounded very bossy Blush It forecasts 20ish degrees at the moment. Is that about right??

UnderEstherMate · 30/07/2014 10:33

Please don't wish it away!! Let it stay, let it stay! (DD is singing 'Let it go' right now...)

AlpacaLypse · 30/07/2014 10:40

Hello Gloria, and Kitten, hope you had a nice holiday?

Can we place a request for a forecast for Beautiful Days please? 15 - 17 August, Escot Park, Devon. Pretty near Exeter.

You are both on a bet by the way, DP has a FB friend who fancies himself as a forecaster and I said yah - boo - sucks Kitten and co are much better! So this is for the honour of MN Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/07/2014 15:59

Boggles that sounds about right to start with though we are heading far far off in forecasting land (GFS goes up to the 15th at present) it does show the first two weeks of August as being cooler and more unsettled with hope of a new high pressure (and hence dryness and warmth) building again towards mid month. Alpaca. Your weekend falls off the end of the forecasting period I'm afraid but I wouldn't give it much credence that far n the future anyway!

OYBBK

How is next Monday - Friday in weymouth looking?

We are taking DS camping the first time and I don't know what will be worse 30+ degree heat in a tent or thunderstorms!

RainbowTeapot · 30/07/2014 16:58

Werrt camping in weymouth this weekend!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/07/2014 19:22

Bitchpeas you may see some showers at times, I'm not sure how heavy yet. You should have pleasant temps, low 20s and hopefully a decent amount of sunshine too.

BitchPeas · 30/07/2014 21:31

Thank you! Showers and low 20s I can deal with Smile

Ahhh bet it was lovely rainbow I love weymouth!

TomDaleysTrunks · 30/07/2014 22:16

Thanks OYBBK. I'm holding off booking a hall till tomorrow morning then. Eeek. BBC weather looks worrying though.
I really can't complain, we've just back from a week in sunny Devon.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/07/2014 22:51

I'll try and remember to have a look in the morning :)

AlpacaLypse · 30/07/2014 22:55

Ok Kitten. I'll just say 'I told you so' no matter what... with a bit of luck they'll all be so pie-eyed they won't remember what I said!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/07/2014 23:09

Grin that's the spirit!

TomDaleysTrunks · 31/07/2014 06:41

Thanks!

marne2 · 31/07/2014 18:56

We were forecast rain for this afternoon, there was some black cloud but sky now clear, not a drop of rain. Forecast now saying it's coming tomorrow and over the weekend, please tell me Monday will be dryer?
