Slow moving heavy showers this week

Just a heads up, especially for those that have been lulled into a sense of summer. After today there looks to be lots of heavy slow moving showers likely. Some of them could be come quite thundery/haily by nature. I think tht wednesday/thursday look like the peak wet days and I wouldnt be surprised to seem some localised high rainfall values pretty much anywhere but perhaps with a focus on the NW and east Wales/west England.

It has been a gorgeous afternoon here :)

OMG it has been foul all day here in Worcestershire, but now the sun has just come out. At one point there were rivers of water on the road. Just horrible.

paddingtonbear1 · 24/05/2014 23:28

I mustn't forget to pack the waterproofs for Wales then...
We were lucky last year, the same week was hot and sunny!
This afternoon in Manchester has been very wet. It brightened up early eve though.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/05/2014 08:22

Absolutely no guarantees but thurs through Saturday doesn't look too terrible on the latest GFS. The following week still looks unsettled.

It's peeing it down again.

OYBBK (a phrase I use a lot with Dkitten), once you've polished your crystal ball and other forecasting equipment do you know what next Monday and Tuesday (June 2nd & 3rd) are likely to be like? We're off to Lego Land for a couple of days. Thank you! FlowersCake & Wine to cover all bases!

Sparklingbrook · 25/05/2014 09:17

We need an [umbrella] emoticon.

MegBusset · 25/05/2014 09:28

Sunny and warm today, we're off to the beach

Sparklingbrook · 25/05/2014 09:30

'Orribly wet and miserable today. The forecast for us when I got up was for rain from midday onwards so on that basis, I went to the allotment at 9.45ish to do a few hours work before the rain started. From the moment I got there, it started raining and apart from a few minutes here and there during the day, it hasn't stopped. Tomorrow doesn't look much better and we're (just about) under the weather warning issued for tomorrow.

I would definitely like an umbrella emoticon at the moment!

digerd · 26/05/2014 18:14

Well, it did stop raining for a while late morning but has just started againConfused.
At least got my and DDs lawn cut by gardener, my rose arch standing up with many adjustments made - the most successful being to tie one side to the pergola cross bar Hmm.
Also, I climbed the wobbly ladder while gardener held it steady and I emptied the clogged gutter and some of the muck fell on his headGrin

I do hate a soggy garden and slipped on the wet petals on the bridge over the pond - SIGH. It can stop raining now!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/05/2014 18:15

It is a very slowly improving picture after wednesday that could last until next tuesday/wednesday. Not totally dry, but not terrible. Weekend looks pretty ok :)

ps
Do hope it is dry at 9.15 on Wednesday morning as walking to dance hall for 4 minutes.

GloriaSmud · 26/05/2014 18:33

digerd ~ Lol at all the stuff falling on your gardener's head!
I had an attempt at clearing out our gutters a few months ago when I rigged together a "contraption" that involved an extendable window cleaning pole, gaffer tape and a clothes hanger, to 'hook' the muck out of the gutter. Only thing was that a lot of the 'muck' came out of the gutter, splattered/bounced off the conservatory roof and ended up all over me.
Oh how DH laughed! Hmm Grin
Hope you're OK after slipping on those wet petals.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/05/2014 08:33

Argh, rain forecast really pepped up today.

warnings for the east

Gloria
You sound ingenius and very brave. I live in a bungalow and until a few years ago I used to do it every summer with a ladder. Now I'm too old to be safe on a wobbly ladder and my window cleaners ususally do it.

Already got my waterproof over trousers out ready for tomorrow morning, just haven't yet decided on which raincoat to wear.
Have a see -through golf umbrella which covers my shoulders in a dome shape with bright pink trims to cheer me upGrin

GloriaSmud · 27/05/2014 11:43

'Tis grim out there ~ we've had 8.1mm of rain so far today and it's not very warm ~ 13.2C
