Here too in Essex! Hiding indoors today.

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2014 11:53

I am doing lots of washing and using loads of pegs. Grin

I'd be too scared my knickers would be blown into a neighbouring garden. Blush

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2014 12:21

Grin Sparkling Cats numerous beds and bedding are all out there at the moment.

It is here too! I wish I'd had some washing out!

wind warnings for the SW tomorrow could gust to 60mph - enough to bring down small branches (mind you, saw small branches falling here today!)

denialandpanic · 09/05/2014 17:49

We've had a message from the parish council saying the electricity company have contacted them saying they are expecting adverse weather conditions that may affect power supply tomorrow. SW Surrey.

Whats going on??

Our BBQ blew over this pm I think the wind got up under the cover

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/05/2014 20:50

D&p I'm surprised at that, I'm not expecting anything more than about 40mph in your region tomorrow.

digerd · 09/05/2014 20:57

S.Herts.
We had april showers all morning and sun and breezy in the afternoon.
Had turned the boiler off recently but this morning was only 17.5 in sitting room so had to turn it back on for a short while this morning Confused.

My climbing roses at the front have got mildew I noticed today despite me watering the roots just recentlyConfused.

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2014 20:58

It died down a bit this evening and we got some nice sunshine. Tomorrow looks awful. Junior footy too. Sad

It is windy in the SW, but nothing a good pegging couldn't take care of when dealing with one of my big loads.

denialandpanic · 10/05/2014 10:08

I think after askr the winter black outs and pay outs (everyone in village got at least 170) there's a degree of paranoia. oh and lots of commiteesWink

PestoSunnyissimos · 10/05/2014 18:47

It's blowing a hooley down here on the outskirts of Brighton too!

HotSauceCommittee · 10/05/2014 19:19

I had to walk instead of cycling to the shop today, as it was so windy. I forgot the coconut milk and refused to take the car on such a short journey so I walked at least 4 km in high winds.

oldsilver · 10/05/2014 23:15

Could someone please stop the wind, it's been bad since Thursday - there's not an upright dustbin anywhere to be seen.

I've fallen over once already, yesterday, the wind always makes me jittery and light headed.

Bristol.

SE
Raining here again and gardener was supposed to mow my lawn today. He tries to convince me he can still do it but I am not having it Angry
We are having gusts of very breezy weather.
I have 2 vulnerable fence panels but they survived all the recent storms but not when my neighbour tore down his shed and erected another right near my fence.
Oh no he didn't touch the 2 trellis half moon top panels - oh yes he did as I saw him- and his excuse was that they fell down all by themselves as were rottonAngry
Wonder if my rose arch has fallen apart again?Hmm

digerd · 11/05/2014 09:36

ps
only 11 degrees out and heating on again so fed up!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/05/2014 10:33

It's getting very irritating - it's absolutely shredding my garden.

I'm hopeful that it will calm down Tuesday night.

Sparklingbrook · 11/05/2014 10:35

I am a bit bored with it now. I want to put some washing out but it's doing that depressing drizzly thing.

OP posts:
EduCated · 11/05/2014 10:55

I'm quite enjoying it at the moment, though it woke me up a couple of times in the night. Very blustery still now.

magimedi · 11/05/2014 11:01

I am so fed up with it & looking at the garden makes me want to cry - it's being decimated.

I hope you are right about Tuesday, OYBBK.

Sparklingbrook · 11/05/2014 11:31

All the doors are slamming. Angry I hate that.

SE.
It did improve. Gardener been and rose arch that had fallen apart again has been reassembled again .
Much warmer than this morning Smile Rain stopped at 10 am but not as sunny as yesterday.
Wind not that bad here.

kaizen · 11/05/2014 16:18

I tried to go for a swim in the sea in the SW- bloody kite-surfers everywhere ready to slice my head off and raging waves. So I've skulked off to the pub instead Grin

magimedi · 11/05/2014 18:13

Wind has got up here again, East Sussex coast & is bloody cold.

kaizen wer eyou in a wet suit? Sea still baltic round here & can't swim when rough as steep shingle makes it a sod getting out. Won't swim until it's 16C - usually end of June. But no wet suit.
