Southern weather warnings

Met office have done a stupid redesign of their page so now I have to specifically look for warnings. Grrr.

Some of you may have noticed that the storms are becoming electrified

It's fine at the moment - on coast near Chichester. Can even see a bit of blue sky! Where's it coming from?

Near to coast at Eastbourne & it's lovely & sunny & warm - for now!!

Thunder and lightning here in Dorset!

It's coming directly from the east, but seems to be forming bands on the radar so you if you get one storm you may well end up with a train of them.

Anyone else having a lively afternoon?

Still lovely here - but some huge cunim building up inland.

We are a bit of a micro climate, with the Beachy Head effect.

We had thunder storms in the South West on Sunday. I need it to be dry now, because I'm cycling tomorrow.

We had absolutely torrential rain, hail and thunder for about 15 mins at 3.45, the roads were like rivers and hail was piled up in corners like little snowdrifts afterwards (Hants/Surrey borders).

Thunder still rumbling on BTW.

We had a very sudden massive rain storm here (Wokingham) at 12.10 - it appeared from nowhere just as the kids were going out to lunch, sunshine to monsoon in what seemed like half a minute - then again with thunder this time about an hour later.

We had a few downpours. First about 1.30 the 2 more with thunder about 3.45 and 4.15. The middle one was epic!

Gatwick had lots of rumbling at the moment but nothing worth watching just yet.

No rain here yet. Watered my early rambling noisette rose which has a few blooms already opened so bound to rain later. When it is looking glorious in full bloom and the wind and rain arrive, the blooms fall apart and into the pond below.

Thunder and intermittent heavy rain in Hampshire this afternoon. It almost looked as though we'd been transported back to November.

Local news online is that a new flood alert has been issued for places in Hampshire because the groundwater levels remain high.

fog warnings

So much water around that cooler clear nights are leading directly to fog.

Ah, that explains why it was foggy here earlier today. Delays to Solent ferries and at Southampton airport, and on the roads.

It was a bit foggy here this morning at 6am but was sunny for the rest of the day. Rain is now forecast for tomorrow .

We have had 2 thunder/lightening storms in the past week, we rarely get them here (and never for very long) so much excitement in North Hampshire

It did rain in the night but not a lot. 9 degrees minimum and 11 now, dull and dismal.
