is there really a heatwave tomorrow??

All the sites I have looked at suggest 30 degrees in London tomorrow, but its lovely and cool today. How accurate is this and will it be 30 and humid or 30 and breezy?? Any advice please as planning a trip to London Zoo tomorrow and can't think it will be much fun in high temperatures and the animals go quite quiet in hot weather! thank you

I know what you mean but the Met Office have a heat wave warning up!

For one day only, we're forecast to hit 29C tomorrow and it looks like the rest of the country is going to have a warm day too..... and then it cools down to more normal temperatures (20-21C) for the weekend.

Thanks, just seen forecast on BBC news, nightmare trip to Zoo tomorrow then.... warm egg sandwiches and tired animals....

The heatwave started suddenly yesterday in the afternoon. By 6pm it was really warm and humid again temperatue in shade zoomed to 26.. Thank goodness it is supposed to be hot for only 1 day, but what's that all about .

19 degrees on my thermometer already and I'm about 15 miles from London Zoo.

They did promise us a strong breeze, but where is it? The doves are cooing - they love it. 28 in the shade of the sun.

My weather station's saying that it's 33.5C at the moment

OMG. I've been chillin' in my north-facing and therefore cool den until now. But I've just gone out into the garden to see if the bird bath needed topping up, and it was like walking into an oven.

My nearest on-line weather station reports temp of 31.4 and humidex of 38.7.

Yes there is a breeze, but only now and again and inbetween is much too hot for me and little dog. Indoors with doors open E and W and is tolerable. Went out to do some weeding in the shade but soon had to make a hasty retreat indoors. 31.6 atm- no clouds all day.

As you now know it was very accurate

28.4 degrees and still humid. Going to be a hard night to sleep.

The wind has gone-so still now, just horrible. Going to sleep on the sofa tonight with the patio doors open!

Highest temperature today ~ 34C at 3.24pm. 25.3C at the moment ~ 'tis going to be an uncomfortably warm night.

It was only 25 in my bedroom at 9.30pm when i went to bed exhausted from the humid heat indoors, but managed to sleep well. Looks to be a 2nd day of the same. Hope it is cooler late evening and less humid than yesterday.
