I have a confession: this terrible weather is all my fault. You see, ...

A few months ago, I considered buying DS2 a sand and water play table for the garden

So it's ALL my fault.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you're wrong. It's actually because this year I bought two pairs of sandals. How could I have been so stupid?

PoppyWearer · 18/06/2012 18:00

I will forgive you for the reason that this weather has prevented me from cleaning ours out this year so far - it's full of leaves and rotting garden mush and green wet sand and it's disgusting.

But as the weather continues to be bad, the DCs can't play with it anyway and it doesn't need cleaning.

You still sure you want one?

BellaBearisWideAwake · 18/06/2012 18:01

Aranea, that's big of you but I know the fault is mine

Greedygirl · 18/06/2012 18:01

Well I was convinced it was because we just bought a new patio set! I am so glad someone else is to blame, my DH seems to be holding me accountable just for thinking about sitting in the sun with a glass of wine!

BellaBearisWideAwake · 18/06/2012 18:02

God, imagine what the weather would do if I had actually got one?!

I will however take credit for the few days of good weather we've had at the end of March and end of May. We had short breaks in the UK both times.

If you're interested, our next long weekend away is the weekend after this. So expect stunning weather then.

Greedygirl · 18/06/2012 18:10

Would you consider going away this weekend instead if you are in charge of weather poppywearer? I have booked a wigwam for DH's birthday. The weather forecast is crap and he is muttering about potentially missing the football.

Threelittleducks · 18/06/2012 18:11

We, in Scotland, bought suncream.
-runs from room screaming 'I'm sorry, O.K!' before slamming door -

oreocrumbs · 18/06/2012 18:13

I think it may have been me. I bought DD a slide AND a trampoline.

What was I thinking? I'm so sorry everyone!

Funsponge · 18/06/2012 18:14

Nah. It was me. I shaved my legs. It has rained every single day since.

Sorry.

BellaBearisWideAwake · 18/06/2012 18:21

confession is good for the soul. Maybe I am just responsible for the dreadful weather in the East of England.

DH would like to take some blame because he bought a telescope to look at the stars. We've not had a clear night since then.

I'd like to take some of the blame because during the last spell of summer we had (a few weeks ago), I got out my carpet washer. I'm sure there were mysterious forces at work when it then broke down, leaving the job half done. I'm finishing the carpets this week in the few days of nice weather we're going to have and will therefore accept blame and punishment in advance, for the breakdown of the nice weather that will occur on Thursday.

hugglymugly · 18/06/2012 19:41

I managed to do my bit for the local population today. The sky looked dark and threatening for a lot of the day, but there was no hint of rain on the rainfall radar, so I contemplated mowing the lawn. After several bouts of contemplation I decided I couldn't be arsed sure, so I didn't. And, hey presto!, blue skies and sunshine.

So, if anyone in southern Hampshire wants a bright, sunny day soon, just let me know and I'll spend the day thinking about gardening. Wink

BellaBearisWideAwake · 18/06/2012 20:07

Would you possibly mind moving to Devon at the end of July and not gardening there, please?

Many thanks

It's because I bought a pair of flipflops and a summery skirt, actually.

BellaBearisWideAwake · 18/06/2012 20:17

Oh bloody hell I bought a summery skirt as well! You might as well stone me to death now, it's all I deserve

I hung my washing out on the line one day and every single day off I have had since has had poor weather, so it really is partly my fault as well.

FishfingersAreOK · 18/06/2012 20:20

Ahh...tis so kind of you all to have taken the blame upon yourselves....it was us....buying a wreck of a house so we also had to buy a cheap-as-chips static caravan to live in on the front lawn. Move into static in April....yep...the wettest April on record...it is all us....v sorry.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 18/06/2012 20:25

I am blameless.

I still have full winter kit (including boots) to hand.I haven't so much as looked at the flowerbeds, and I still have the heating on.

I really think you lot should have known better.....I'm disappointed in you.

Grin
RabidAnchovy · 18/06/2012 20:26

Thank God it was you, I though it was because I took the winter duvets off the beds Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 18/06/2012 20:27

Latte- I still have all my winter stuff available, I just thought that I would rest my tumble drier a bit, and it was such a nice sunny day i got 7 loads of washing done and dried

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 18/06/2012 20:32

SecretNutellaFix.

At what cost???

Eh?

EH????

not impressed

BellaBearisWideAwake · 18/06/2012 20:32

Do you think I can shift some of the blame if I buy some waterproof trousers for the school run? Hmm?

OP posts:
cocolepew · 18/06/2012 20:42

Oh thank god. I thought it was me. It has rained every day since I bought a whiry birly washing line.

TheSpokenNerd · 18/06/2012 20:47

It's my fault....I took AGES sewing the DC a gorgeous designer style teepee..it's huge and told them they could sleep out in it and everything!
