Is winter going to fight back this week?

One of the models shows winter returning next weekend, with widespread very cold temperatures and I'm afraid to say - snow for some (not just Scotland)

Of course next weekend is a long way off weather wise but the potential is there.
In the mean time quite a bit of sunshine on and off through this week but sharp frosts right down through to the south where any cloud lifts.

Winter has been going on too long

I saw this, I saw this too! It was on TheWeatherOutlook's homepage yesterday but thought it couldn't possibly be right because Spring is supposed to be coming, isn't it?!

Just checked Metcheck, it's usually good for a laugh.

We have snow here Thursday night, most of Friday, and heavy snow Saturday.....

Hopwful but sceptical is my stance!

does seem that way nikki. take last year - snow in March and then again in November. Only 7 months in in between.

And that's why I'm going to take advantage of the sun that's just come out and go and dig the garden! I might even be really reckless and cut the grass!

Good plan Petunia! I'm going to be doing a bit of digging later in the week - spread the compost about and then cover with plastic until it warms up a bit.#

oh gosh, don't be sorry. I'm sorry if I came across as grumpy, I'm a bit tetchy today.
It does doesnt it. even though todays sun was gorgeous, it was so cold. brrrr.

is metcheck any good? it has us down for snow from the 13th

metcheck uses a computer generated input without any human input so it often says things that wouldnt really happen in real life. Fantastic as computer models are, they still need a good dollop of common sense added in. It could be right though, depending on where you are.

Today's gfs backs away from this very cold solution just a little. However there are still strong signs of a cold and wintry time ahead I feel.

Was just coming on to ask how it was looking for the weekend! Someone on metmonkey thought that it was all looking a bit of a mishmash for next weekend now.

It's only 4 weeks until the Easter holidays please please horrid nasty weather go away. Mind you today is quite pleasant not quite as cold as it has been. Have been out deheading old lavender.
