Sorry for shouting! Didn't want to get lost in evening chat about much more interesting things. There are lots of warning about snow but not so much as a flake here yet (west kent)!

Ok I'm sick of it all now. Can't go out, bored staying in. Ready for it to melt so I can take the boy out in his buggy.

Oh we have masses too. School is still open, it's bonkers.

The kids are totally exhausted. Another six miles to walk today - normally doable but with a 3yo and without the buggy, not so much!

BarbaraWindsor - that's silly. Stay home.

Ds's school was open yesterday but I didn't fancy driving up the hill out of our village.

Report
BarbaraWindsor · 02/12/2010 06:28

thanks Seeker. It's a mile and a half each way, cannot risk driving, skidded loads and got stuck yesterday plus brakes failed on our junction.

So we walk with old Toddles here or we don't bother - trouble is it's a big play tomorrow and ds will be worried. Still might be best to save our strength and get in tomorrow.

I am in Maidstone and loads here. DD1 school never shuts as half teh staff live within walking distance (as do around 70% of pupils) I have got her to school last 2 days (courtesy of my Dad) however there is no way I am chancing it today as we live at the bottom of a big dip and the car will slide everywhere.

According to met office last day of snow for us today but am wondering how long it will take to dissapear now, DD1 has school disco tomorrow and DD2 bativity on Tuesday Sad

Well.. we are definitely snowed in here this morning, (North Kent) over a foot overnight, car is well n truly stuck, not going to attempt to move it!!

Lots of snow forecast till midday.

Cannot see the roads, and there is lots of black ice under the fresh snow.

Thank goodness I don't work on Thursdays! Snow day for me and DD :o)

Loads here too, all our footprints from playing out in the snow yesterday are gone Shock More expected today. I'm wondering how long it is going to take to go too. Any word on that OYBBK?

The only chocolate left in the house is one kitkat belonging to dc. We are almost at crisis point.

I'm NW Kent too, and well and truely snowed in. I have 5 front steps to my front door and currently there are 2. The chain link fences between council houses? Its to the top at the back in some places. I honestly havent seen snow like this in 20 years, and I'm getting quite frustrated. I'm a single parent with a 4yr and 2yr old and my whole support network is snowed in, and I;m starting to get rather stressed by it all. Cant even walk far as the snow is up to DS2's waist now.

We have masses here now in Broadstairs - how weird as I didn't think we'd get snow here. Thank goodness I went shopping yesterday as there is no way I'm taking the car out yesterday. Even the buses aren't working apparently and the lady who runs the pre-school has had to abandon her car so is going to have to walk home :o

ItalianLady · 02/12/2010 10:09

School is actually closed for once.

We have over a foot of snow and it is still snowing.

I can't imagine Broadstairs in snow - is it lying on the beack? That would be beautiful!

Report
LadyBiscuit · 02/12/2010 10:15

The beack? Is that a local term? Wink

Dunno yet - am going to have a warming cup of tea and go down there now and have a look while my DS is at pre-school. He walks so slowly we'll be snowmen by the time we get there if I take him :o

I'm in Sevenoaks and we've got over a foot. It's getting a bit old now, DS is 11 months, so I can't get out with the buggy and we are both rather bored. Added to that, DH is working from home so we're trying to be quiet.

DH is going to walk to Tescos later for provisions, why oh why didn't I listen to those on the zombie thread and make sure I had emergancy supplies?

(still on the bright side, if we do have a zombie insident in the UK this week, they'll struggle to get through the deep snow on our road to attack)

it's just continually coming down here - have made it to work, and it's lovely - just white for all you can see!

It makes me wish I was still up in Milstead, though.
the dirfts off the fields are normally higher than the fallen snow and you can't drive down the road! Xmas Grin

but it's just coming down like rain - hasn't stopped all morning.

Yes,it's been non stop here too - we had a good couple of inches overnight,it buried the milk I'd put out to keep cold (if zombies attack we are ok for milk but low on everything else...)

FakePlasticTrees,I love the idea of a zombie incident in Sevenoaks - Sevenoaks and zombies don't quite fit together in my brain!!

Thankfully the snow has finally stopped here. It is really pretty bad - not what you expect here (only just moved here and I feel like I want a refund :o)

The beach looks lovely tho :)
