Hello! This is my first post.
My baby is 14 weeks old and mainly breastfed. Because she seems to struggle to get full I give her at least one bottle of formula per day (usually at night time so she'll sleep for a longer time. She seems very interested in our meals and I'm thinking of weaning her early. I'd like to hear about peoples experiences of weaning before the recommended 6 months and any advice.

O damn, now I will have to feed them burned chicken or let dh take them toMcD again

micha26 · 07/07/2005 19:05

Yes, that is indeed the difference. I wouldn't let my kids eat at McDonalds because it is definitely bad food. But I will still wean my son at 12 weeks, if the stuff is good quality.

You'd think someone would have fabricated some evifdence to say that weaning early is healthy.

micha26 · 07/07/2005 19:06

Good point - Maybe we should blame the weaning also on the AlQueda.

butting in here but

"Twiglett why don't you go cry about it then" is out od order.

hercules · 07/07/2005 19:06

I believe you are winding us up and I fell for it.

hercules · 07/07/2005 19:07

That is not funny.

WigWamBam · 07/07/2005 19:07

Walk away, hercules, they don't want a debate, just a slanging match.

hunkermunker · 07/07/2005 19:07

micha26, have you seen the news today? Are you dense?

hercules · 07/07/2005 19:07

Walking away, {again}

hunkermunker · 07/07/2005 19:08

Fecking eejits.

micha26 · 07/07/2005 19:08

Ok - that wasn't funny, but that was the only wind up so far .

hercules · 07/07/2005 19:09

I doubt she's watched the news. I expect she'll say it's all a lie anyway.

micha26 · 07/07/2005 19:09

dense? oh hunkermunker, have you learnt a new word today?

tamum · 07/07/2005 19:10

What a vile pair. As for being told to put babies on their fronts to sleep in the nineties, bollocks.

juicychops · 07/07/2005 19:11

i started ds on solids at about 15 weeks. it was right for my ds and all babies are different. He has done really well on solids from day 1 and he is nearly 6 months now on 3 meals a day and a pint of formula milk a day. He is putting on the right amount of weight...not too much...not too little and he is happy so im happy

hunkermunker · 07/07/2005 19:11

micha26, attack me if you wish, it's just words on a screen. I have no respect for your views so far, so why would your insults upset me?

hercules · 07/07/2005 19:11

I advise everyone to stop posting here. Feed the troll and all that.

micha26 · 07/07/2005 19:11

Maybe not in the UK. But maybe you can't see further than a few steps ahead. Colonialists still alive.

WigWamBam · 07/07/2005 19:12

Do we need a reminder of the MN Philosophy?

micha26 · 07/07/2005 19:12

There are a few other countries in this world which are just as developed as UK. Maybe you have never left the island?

hercules · 07/07/2005 19:12

Anyone got the number for Boden?

Norash · 07/07/2005 19:13

I see the clique coming into action.

I am walking away from this before it gets any more nusty, why is it ok for some people (who belong to the "clique") to be rude to others?

I'm out now.

hunkermunker · 07/07/2005 19:13

Boden, you say, Hercules? Haven't they a sale on atm? I'd like the number too please!

hunkermunker · 07/07/2005 19:14

Hey ho, more clique allegations. I collect those in a big tin.
