6 mo hates my cooking!!!

I've been weaning my 6mo DS for about 4 weeks and he appears to be repulsed by anything I cook / prepare myself (thanks Annabel Karmel!) - yet will wolf down Ella's Kitchen pouches, baby yogurt, baby porridge and now jars of Hipp Organic variations on chicken. As well as numerous fruit / veg purees I've tried fish with sweet potato, fruity chicken casserole, cauliflower cheese but they all produce the same disgusted expression and a clamping shut of the mouth. Any idea what I've done / am doing wrong?!

about a week, maybe a fortnight, mooles. (ime). toast is pretty gaggy, as foods go, especially slathered with butter. what about a wee rice cake to settle you in?

apparently... ... gillian mckeith's kids are terrible eaters.

no prob, cara. tbh the best thing to do is stick it on the tray and see what happens. milk is their main source of nutrition until they're one anyway, so if they don't eat anything (as sometimes happens), no worries, just be prepared to give them more milk.

i found both of mine needed a dreamfeed at about six months, where they hadn't had one previously. one ate LOADS at six months, the other not so much. but both took their growth spurts in milk form, iykwim?

Just to be controversial... but my wee girl also hated my food and LOVED jars. I decided not to stress it - was more worried about her thinking meals were a battleground. I ended up using LOTS of jars when she was 6mo - 1 year old, really, probably kept Cow and Gate in business and felt the glares of the super mums everytime I fed her in public!

However, I gave her lots of finger foods that she loved to try and get her used to lumps etc and after a year she was much keener on 'my' food. She now doesn't eat jars and my only compromise is those pasta sauces they do now which she is mad for.

I used to really worry about her getting hooked on jars but she's never batted an eyelid when I stopped using them - when she was more used to the concept of eating.

Saying this, I am really interested in BLW which I'd not heard of when I was weaning her and might try this with my current bump when it gets to the right age!!
