WEANING IS SO EXPENSIVE AND HOW MUCH BABY RICE SHOULD I PUT IN HIS BOTTLE???

My baby is 12 weeks and so it's time for him to start weaning.

I've been to Asda and got some baby carrots and some baby sweetcorn - they were really expensive for little vegetables. I did ask what drinks they had for babies but other than babycham they couldn't find any so I've got some milk and some baby rice.

But how much baby rice should I put in his bottle and also, do I need to mush up the carrots before I put them in also or do they need liquidising or wot?

gosh, half term already?

2point4kids · 24/10/2008 14:46

have you tried babybel cheese?

LIZS · 24/10/2008 14:47

yawn

BloodshotEyeballsintheScarySky · 24/10/2008 14:49

Just put everything in the bottle whole. If he's ready for weaning he'll be able to suck the carrots out through the teat. If not, wait a few weeks.

twentynine · 24/10/2008 14:49

Sorry, couldn't resist!

DS is alive and well and fully breastfed!

But good one 2point4kids!

Cor you left it late haven't you? I started weaning ds at three weeks

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 24/10/2008 22:05

Babybels? Don't you mean cheese strings?

SlasherGoober · 24/10/2008 22:08

He'll like it more if you add some salt. Give it a try.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 24/10/2008 22:15

You realise you've probably already missed your window of opportunity don't you?

Now he'll never learn to eat solids and you'll have the only child at school who's still fully breastfed. You'll have to go in at breaktime and get your norks out for him.

Ah well, if only you'd listened to reason.

I give my 3 week old baby back ribs. They help his teething.

AnarchyAunt · 24/10/2008 22:23

I will shamelessly post my fave link of the day at this juncture (with thanks to EffiePerrine )

FAQ · 24/10/2008 22:27

AA - that's fabulous

pudding25 · 24/10/2008 22:28

Hilarious! Love the babycham.

AnarchyAunt · 24/10/2008 22:28

Does that BLW thing work if I am having a can of spesh and a rollie????

Save her little lungs if she can down it in one rather than smoke it, and she is so ready, she's been staring at me smoke for weeks now.

LoopyLena · 24/10/2008 22:38

AnarchyAunt - that is fantastic!!!! PMSL!!!!

JodieO · 24/10/2008 22:39

I know I shouldn't even give this thread the time of day, but twentynine do you realise how SMUG you sound? Get over yourself.

Flibbertyjibbet · 24/10/2008 22:45

AnarchyAunt, aren't you supposed to wait till they can sit up before they have their first fag?
Otherwise they might set fire to the cot bumpers

AnarchyAunt · 24/10/2008 22:47

Ah no its ok the HV said so long as its fire retardant fabric.
