At what age can I stop taking seeds out of blooming tomatoes!!???

I have a pathological aversion to tomatoes and particularly tomato seeds. Eeeeeeeeeek.

Oh dear, maybe I have been following AK too seriously? I don't actually know why, but I thought needed to? Thinking about it logically, I can't see why. I will post up on AK website and if a plausible reason comes back, I will let you know!

It's not a windup , it says 'skinned, deseeded and chopped' in her recipes .
I feel stupid / slightly embarressed now ....

I do it too (because Annabel Karmel tells me to and she is My All-Knowing Leader). DC3 is 10 months now.

So I take it that I can stop then?! Should I carry on skinning them? That's a palaver too.

Ahhhhh I'm sure you're talking about doing this for particular recipes aren't you? Big difference - then it's all about texture and liquidity I should think. For example, I tend not to use anything but skinned tomatoes in bolognese type meals as you end up with bits of skin floating around.

This does not mean that children can't have skin/seeds etc.

Most recipes for tomato sauce, even grown up ones, say de-seed and skin the tomatoes. I might skin them, but never bother de-seeding them.

I thought you meant for giving to the baby just to eat. My DCs have had skin and seeds and all from an early age, but I would chop them/break the skins first incase of choking (cherry toms obviously, pmsl at image of DD with whole plum tomato in her gob), just like with grapes.

He's 9 months.
I use them for inspiration really. I make up my own combos too, but it helps when I am feeling like I lack inspiration! Ease I guess. But I am using less and less now I have a bit more of a clue!

bless. i had a mouli for DS1 too. i feel such a fool now. took me ages to find one too.

DS2 has been given chopped tomato and sweetcorn since he could pick them up. much much easier.

skinning tomatoes is a PITA.

i might keep skinning, but stop deseeding ... the extra hours i will have ...

DS2 sort of skins his tomatoes himself. he just hands the skin back to me once he's eaten the rest of the tomato.

does he do that with potatoes, carrots, butternut squash too? .. what a helpful child!
