Use tinned tomatoes if you want them skinned!

LoveMyGirls · 13/08/2008 07:59

pmsl, sorry.

Dawnie6577 · 13/08/2008 13:18

I have always just scooped out the middle and yes, it doesn't leave much!
But anyhow, with all of this extra time on my hands, I can take up ... knitting, singing lessons, baking etc etc
Seriously, I wasn't intending to cause so much hilarity, it is just that I have been blindly following 'instructions' and just stood there, at the worktop thinking why the hell am I doing this!!
But anyway, I've stopped now, so we will see how DS responds, tee hee!
I've been avoiding tinned tomatoes, cos of the salt (but I wouldn't want to cause another debate on that!!!)

ps what does 'pmsl' mean?

Only read op, but I've never ever taken them out!
Do children blow up if they've eaten them or something?
Why bother?

PMSL - piss myself laughing!
(see acronym list in the options at the top)

You take seeds out of tomatoes ?
REALLY ?
Good god. I never knew people did this. Is it common ? Why would you start doing it ?

Oblomov · 13/08/2008 13:31

oh. Is like like a recipe thing. AK. I get it. If I see some chef, Anthony Worrell Thomson. or whoever, suggest a recipe. Any recipe that invloves skining or de-seeding. Oblomov turns off mentally. I can't be doing with this shenanigans

Oblomov · 13/08/2008 13:36

Dawn, Dawn please stop doing both. You will have enough time to write a dissertation/award winning novel.
Please STOOOOOOOP. Today.

Sidge · 13/08/2008 13:44

Oh goodness life is far too short to deseed a tomato!

Chuck AK in the bin (she'd probably fit actually) and feed your child exactly what you eat (minus the salt and sugar, and maybe avoid takeaways until he's a bit older ). At 9 months he can have what you have chopped up - tomato pips and all!

Kif · 13/08/2008 13:48

is AK the one that recomends leaving berries til later because it's so fiddly to skin and de-seed? I PMSL even with pfb!

Can you imagine skinning and deseeding a blueberry? I might try it, just to see what I end up with
