cornsilk · 14/10/2007 14:50

Where do you get seaweed from Pruners?

Lubyloo · 14/10/2007 14:52

DD (2 yesterday) loves Dijon mustard!

Lubyloo · 14/10/2007 14:54

My 8 month old surprised me the other day by tucking into a tabasco olive that she picked out of a bowl when I wasn't looking. She scoffed that, then grabbed a second.

She also loves gherkins and lemons.

katiebirdie · 09/12/2007 21:27

Ds 16mths loves to chew on slices of lemon, he's a very bizarre child

QuintessentialShadowOfYuleTide · 09/12/2007 21:29

My 2 year old loves pasta with pesto and pine kernels ...

bambi06 · 09/12/2007 21:29

at that age my dd loved pickles of any kind and smoked mackeral

expatinscotland · 09/12/2007 21:32

DD1 fancies all foods Scottish even though I find a good deal of them not so tasty.

She loves haggis, neeps, tatties, tablet, salmon, mussels, minging cloutie dumpling, custard, etc.

Give her anything American like peanut butter, Hershey's chocolate, skinny 'French Fries', etc. and she turns her head away.

suwoo · 09/12/2007 21:34

Olives and mussels..yeeauch

suwoo · 09/12/2007 21:35

Quintessential.. My DC's have been raised on pesto as a weaning food and we all love it.

Bewilderbeast · 09/12/2007 21:46

DS 13 months will only eat things with lots of flavour, particularly loads of garlic and spices he loves curries (no chilli but plenty ginger, garlic and spices) but he will not eat blander foods like mac and cheese grrr!

FAWKEOFFwiththetinsel · 09/12/2007 21:51

hoummus
mussels

suwoo · 09/12/2007 21:54

Again, mine love houmous. I think it just depend how you eat. My dad is a chef, so we have always been experimented upon with tastes. I am a veggie, so flavours are important too.

TrinityTheRedNosedRhino · 09/12/2007 21:56

dd1 LOVES salmon and she is a very picky eater and we just served it up and were going to leave her to try it or not, she tried and has LOVED it ever since
will beg for it

dd2 loves brocolli

ballbaby · 09/12/2007 21:57

ds1 loves anchovies

ds2 likes sausages - and nothing but sausages

slim22 · 09/12/2007 22:00

DS1 3.8 years loves sushi, seaweed, tofu and since last week, proper spicy food (squid in spicy tomato salsa/spicy noodle soup)!

slim22 · 09/12/2007 22:01

sorry did not realise you are talking about weaning stage!

ballbaby · 09/12/2007 22:01

is "minging cloutie dumpling" the real name?

Brangelina · 10/12/2007 10:32

My DD at 7mo put a lump sized piece of raw ginger root in her mouth, took it out and looked at it, then popped it back in and sucked on it for a good 10 mins (eye-watering emoticon). She loved anything flavoured with lemon and ginger at around that period, as well as curries, hoummous, garlic mushrooms cooked in white wine, smelly goat's cheese, swiss chard and other green leafy veg with a marked flavour.

Now at 2.5 she's got fussy about some of those (lemon and ginger and hoummous are off the menu as are some green leafy veg), but she loves olives ( even spicy ones), ripe and strong flavoured cheeses, dried seaweed (will practically faint with joy if she sees a packet), tapenade and spicy marinated tofu.

Anna8888 · 10/12/2007 10:33

Taramasalata - my daughter eats kilos of the stuff.

JingleyJen · 10/12/2007 10:35

DS's both love thai curry (not the hotest ones but at my spice max) Green chicken curry for DS1 and chicken penang for DS2

They have been bought up eating quite alot of different chinese food (DH is chinese) and I love the fact that the things they don't like are the standard things like potatoes.
