cheese?

Katymac · 19/09/2007 20:17

Cook it (very) slightly less

Did you put milk & butter in?

My DD likes it with smoked salmon (but she is 9)

i put finely chopped tomato in it and i'd second the butter and milk suggestions.

faylisa · 19/09/2007 20:21

Sounds weird I know but I used to mix it with banana - but then my daughter went through a phase when she'd only eat things with banana in them, so she had a lot of odd combinations!

fihi · 19/09/2007 20:22

mine like it with mashed potato!

gingerninger · 19/09/2007 20:22

What about tomato or mushroom, courgette (lightly boiled first)or baked beans. You could try mixing with a little mayo? Or soft cream cheese and mashed sardine(from a tin in tom sauce.)

LIZS · 19/09/2007 20:25

dd loved smoked salmon ! Or mash it with potato and tomato chunks.

noddy4 · 19/09/2007 20:33

when mine was about that age she wouldn't even look at scrambled egg unless it had brown sauce in it! Think i may have had too much vinegar and spices when pregnant!

bookthief · 19/09/2007 20:36

Soft cheese is good or I keep a bag of frozen chopped spinach in the freezer which I mix in with scrambled eggs.

I always make it with butter and cream for ds which I think makes it more moist.

HayleyWayley · 19/09/2007 21:14

wow thanks for all ur replies....i wasnt expecting it!

im gonna sound thick now.. but do u add the butter before u cook the egg?
coz what i normally do it mix only milk in with it then put it in microwave....

the tomatoes sound like a good idea.. could i use chopped tomatoes from a tin?

To be honest it tastes much better done in the pan rather than the microwave. YHou can also see when it is cooked just enough far better

cardy · 19/09/2007 21:24

smoked salmon or tiny pieces of ham?

pinkspottywellies · 19/09/2007 21:27

I put quite a lot of milk in (about 3/4 volume of the egg) which makes the texture quite smooth. dd always liked chopped tomato in it until last weekend when she wouldn't touch the egg at all!

oliveoil · 19/09/2007 21:27

Haribo's

luckylady74 · 19/09/2007 21:29

i used fresh tomato - tinned toms would have to be well drained

bookthief · 19/09/2007 21:29

Any cheese you like I suppose. I use Philadelphia.

fizzbuzz · 19/09/2007 21:29

Peas, dd picks them out. She is mad about peas

southeatsastras · 19/09/2007 21:30

bacon

BalletMum · 19/09/2007 21:31

if you put butter in the pan first, then the eggs, then stir until they look pretty cooked and then add more butter, you'll get good eggs. they're still cooking under their own heat, iykwim, so for nice scrambled eggs you need to take them off the heat a bit earlier than you think. don't overcook scrambled eggs if it's for finger food... just make an omelette.

midnightexpress · 20/09/2007 13:16

isn't smoked salmon a bit salty for a 9 mo? ds1 eats it by the fistful, but I've held off giving it to ds2 because of the salt content.

kiskidee · 20/09/2007 13:24

grate normal cheese into it.
