I’m starting to think about weaning my DD in the next month or so, just starting to do a bit of reading up to see what kind of things to give her and how to get going! Not really sure where to start so any help would be appreciated

Started at just over 5 months. He had very simple things for first 2 weeks - 1 ingredient meals once a day at midday e.g. banana, fruit purées, veg purées, sweet potato mash, avocado mash. Also for the first 2 weeks he had the same thing for 2 days to give him a chance to get used to the taste. We heard all sorts of advice re. never giving fruit for first 2 weeks as this makes babies have an irreversible sweet tooth, not like veggies etc but we chose to ignore this and our baby is fine. Don't be afraid to do what YOU want to do - you know your baby better than anyone.

After this I slowly started to combine foods / add seasoning. Also moved from 1-3 meals very gradually. Introduced fish, meat etc gradually from 6 months.

Now that he's 9 months he mainly eats what we eat but mashed up with a fork. Sometimes has finger foods.

Good luck.
