Sausage recommendations

Please can anyone recommend a good vegan sausage, with autumn now I love a bangers and mash meal, I've gone off quorn ones. Was looking at the "this isnt' (?) Range in sainsbury they had a caramelised onion one I thought maybe nice. Thanks in advance

Haven’t tried the This isn’t but love the rest of their range so they sound interesting! M&S posh dogs in their plant kitchen range are lovely though and omv have lovely ones too (which I’ve forgotten the name of but Asda has them)

@Whatawickedgametochoose Thank you OMV is Oh My Vegan which is Asda own range and their sausage rolls are nice. Will try the This isn't ones I think and pick up some OMV on my next Asda trip. Thanks

Ah that would make sense actually (doh!) I had an oh my vegan roast (possibly wellington) at Christmas but didn’t actually connect the sausages or really nice smash burgers recently!

I like the Richmond ones

Thank you I've gone off those too sadly, they used to be juicy but dry now same
goes for the frozen sausage rolls. I used to eat them a lot when there wasn't so much choice. There are some interesting looking flavour and content combos in the Aldi plant range which I've not tried yet actually

This are very much like pork sausages as I remember them.
I like them but don't eat them regularly.

Cauldron do good ones but they are veggie not vegan.

@redboxer321 thank you. I will try them I think, Richmond okay I've found frying is better than baking. I like to bake them in chilli oil, with some sliced onions, It's just bangers mash and greens with gravy sometimes really hits the spot doesn't it?

Linda McCartney rosemary and red onion ones are DD’s favourite

I have gone off regular linda mccartney ones-I probably had too many! Now i like the lm 'bangers' in the bag not the box.
For sausage and mash I like waitrose leek and mushroom sausages from the chilled section, they are so savoury and go nicely with onion gravy.

Tried the ‘This Isn’t’ caramelised onion ones last week for the first time and thought they were better than Richmond (which I’ve really gone off). I really wish they didn’t have ‘skin’ though.

I like Linda M in a sarnie, but not as sausage and mash.

The ‘Like’ hot dog sausages are great in a sausage casserole. I get them in Morrisons but I think Iceland sell them too. They used to be Fry’s.

Richmond ones every time! They remind me of the chippy sausages of the 80s 😂

Another vote for Richmonds.
I used to like Cauldren but I had some the other day and they tasted like cardboard.
Now if only I could find a corned beef substitute, I'm fancying a nice hash!

We always buy the This Isn't ones, not the caramelised onion ones the plan 'pork' ones. They are the most sausagey ones imo. Cauldron used to be nice but they have done something to them and they are horrid now!

Oh, that's interesting. I'm vegan so don't eat Cauldron sausages but I remember they were nice back in the day but seems like I am not missing out.

@HexInductionHour Agree, bangers mash and greens with gravy on occasion really does hit the spot. Comfort food for autumn/winter. I have to have sweet potato or parsnip mash now as I can't eat nightshade food, not quite the same but still good.

My formerly meat-eating partner likes the This Isn't ones, I don't and suspect the thing I found to be an unpleasant aftertaste is the bit that makes them reasonably convincing to people who do or have previously eaten pork.

Now you are talking - that sounds lovely, I love leeks, I need to do a Waitrose trip, thank you and also I think chilled is nicer than frozen though I have to freeze the rest of the pack as a rule.thank you

@BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn no not at all, but if you are having bangers they need to have that sort of texture i think, I get that some of them are aimed at people having a meat free day and I thinks that’s really good, I just want savoury and succulent 🥰

I read with interest as for me , Richmond are too similar to real meat, Linda mc ones are just weird and greasy , cauldron I used to love. I haven’t tried Aldi or Asda. So I’m not help but am interested. I do love a quorn one still but am bored of them

This Isn't range of sausages are good and the Richmond ones are passable, But my preference is for the Redefine Meat Bratwurst Sausage.
