No.

quietnightmare · 16/12/2022 03:29

No chance don't want to risk fertility issues if I can help it, tooth decay or risk low vitamins and Calcium etc

ReeseWitherfork · 16/12/2022 03:37

SIL adopted a raw vegan diet when she was diagnosed with cancer. It wasn’t fruitarian, but she was pretty much just eating fruit, veg, nuts and seeds. Didn’t last long as it wasn’t overly sustainable. She ended up moving to a vegan diet, primarily built around whole foods. I think she finds that restrictive too but doable.

Winterpetal · 16/12/2022 03:45

Joined some Facebook groups on it ,that suggest it is the ultimate way of clean eating.god knows I need an overhaul

It's an eating disorder. Don't be daft.

Talia99 · 16/12/2022 04:16

Look up orthorexia. Maybe some people who eat this sort of diet don’t have an eating disorder but a lot do.

BuffaloCauliflower · 16/12/2022 04:24

Please don’t do this. It’s an extremely unbalanced and dangerous way to eat. Almost impossible to get necessary protein and fat, and extremely expensive in pursuit of these.

Dashel · 16/12/2022 04:37

This doesn’t sound healthy at all. I’m vegan and try to do mainly whole foods, so very sympathetic to anyone trying veganism but this is going to cut out so many more things like beans and chickpeas.

There are vegan whole foods groups as well on Facebook with lots of great recipes.

wesayno · 19/12/2022 02:18

Do some proper research and stop tarnishing veganism with faddy diet crap.

mackthepony · 19/12/2022 02:21

Meh not for me

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/12/2022 02:23

You aren't a gorilla.

Try a balanced diet for an adult human person.

Gingernaut · 19/12/2022 02:54

You need fats and protein, not just carbs.

Seriously, if you're even considering this level of batshittery, you need to speak to a medical professional about your mental health.

CherryRipe1 · 19/12/2022 02:59

Dds freind is a fruitarian & is positively grey looking, like the grey 👽. Will only eat windfalls, no picked fruits.

ReedRite · 19/12/2022 03:52

I knew someone who ate this way and he got progressively sicker and sicker. He had to have his jaw wired as everything got loose.

Why would you think it’s a good idea? It’s obvious right off the bat that it doesn’t provide all the nutrition a human needs. About the opposite of ‘healthy’. It’s disordered eating. What attracts you to it?

Forget the insults, though any way of eating that is very dictative is not only impossible to do, it won't be healthy unless you include nuts esp. pnuts which have a load of protein, seeds, the best are linseeds , and eat only organically. You should be ok, B12 supplements are important so include yeast flakes. Also include oils like olive, linseeds etc, and carbs such as whole rice, whole spelt and rye breads. Oh and fresh greens are very important .

There is a problem if you're allergic to any of the above of course.

ppeatfruit · 12/03/2023 09:58

Also you can be allergic to some fruits, oranges and tomatoes give me bad eczema. I 'm good with lemons and grapefruits though. Dates can build your blood pressure up too.

There is a problem because I'd assume most people who eat like this have an eating disorder. No matter how much you talk about pinenuts. And eating disorders are some of the most fatal MH issues.

Commonsensitivity · 12/03/2023 16:04

Too low in protien I would think. Quite high in sugar.

CollieFIower · 12/03/2023 16:05

No sane healthy people are

HTH

Overworkedwithadog · 12/03/2023 20:17

Agree protein is really, hi really important. Am a bit worried about some of the suggestions on some of the threads here about what's sensible for vegans ( as one myself). I think it is possible to be a healthy vegan... but it needs a lot of thought and attention to nutritional requirements.

Overworkedwithadog · 12/03/2023 20:18

Ignore the 'hi' above. No idea!

ppeatfruit · 03/04/2023 12:31

Some non vegans implying their own ways of eating (Mainstream) is healthy is bizarre. How high is the incidence of cancer in our population now? 50% they were saying on the telly so it must be true !

The hospitals are bursting at the seams, so there must be something wrong with the deep fried food, ready made dishes takeaways etc. There are too many eaten all the time, some people won't look at fresh food (maybe eat veg or fruit a couple of times a week). Unless of course we don't believe that what we eat is responsible for our ill health.

Of course some vegan foods (esp. shopbought) are'nt very healthy either. I'm not suggesting otherwise , there are good ways of eating but you have to discover them. Strict veganism is maybe not the healthiest IMO. There should be a happy medium with home (mainly vegetarian) cooked food from scratch (and fresh) being best for everyone.

Did she get that from Notting Hill?

Well if we all existed on windfall fruits we wouldn't be here! That is extreme. Funny how many of us go to extremes in our lifestyles. IMO and Experience, eat what you know agrees with you (listen to your gut )

Sadly I've found that the traditional way of eating: e.g. fruit for dessert and the carb plus protein and veg at the same meal (pies and chips) Doesn't agree with me. So the Food Combining and Blood Type Way of Eating is the best for me.
