What are the types of people you won’t travel with ?

here is my list.

1. People who complain that English isn’t spoken in a country that is obviously not an English speaking country
2. The type of person who is easily irritable. Someone who complains about small things such as train or flight delays, No air conditionings, noise, Pollution from cars whatever. Someone who you easily get into bickerings with.
3. The party animal. The type who wanna go to clubs and party and get stupid drunk.
4. The type who wants to sleep in. If you wanna sleep in, you shouldn’t travel. Stay home.
5. The all inclusive resort people. If someone suggests a trip and I hear the word Cancun, Montego Bay, punta Cana, Cayman Islands, st Martin, I am blocking them. All inclusive resorts are dystopian and people who stay at all inclusive resort are just as dystopian.
6. Someone who is strapped for cash. If you can barely afford to pay rent, you should not travel.
7. The type who refuse to use alternative modes of transport. I don’t mind flying but when I travel from one European country to another, I refuse to fly. I strictly use trains or even coach buses.
8. The type who use travel agents to plan trips.

9 the type of traveller who always wanna take selfies.

People who are uptight about other people wanting to have a drink and a lie in on their holidays.

The ones who don't want to book the nicer hotels but who then complain about every single tiny perceived "fault".

I like a relaxed vibe on holiday so I tend to avoid travelling with the kind of person who makes a 9 point list about who they don't want to travel with.

People who don't leave the resort, don't eat 'forin muck', don't appreciate other cultures and don't make any effort to say a few words in the local language.

MIL invited herself with us on a holiday to Egypt-long story. She came on the hot air balloon as thought she could see all the tombs from there and only then said she hated heights! She stayed by the pool the other 6 days, except when we said we were walking to the local shops for lunch and a wander. She got up and started coming in her swimsuit. I suggested she might want to put some clothes on outside the hotel, so she put some short-shorts. No top, no bra or support in her swimsuit and then wondered why every person in the town was staring at her. 🙄

People who use "wanna" instead of proper grammar

People who give too much thought as to precisely how they judge people and presume other people will be interested in their own rather lengthy answers to their own questions.
People who use the word ‘wanna’.
(Also just for the record couldn’t be doing with travel companions who are noisy eaters/smokers/vapers with body odour who have no real inclination to engage in other cultures).

People who are judgemental about others' quite reasonable preferences.
People who use baby language, e.g. wanna instead of want to.

People who make lists of people they don't want to go on holiday with...

People who are late and hold everyone up.

People who sleep in late or take forever to get ready but won’t let you go get breakfast etc without them!

Everyone. I love traveling alone. I'm very selfish 😁

Extroverts. I like my silence

And also, people who want a bit of what I've ordered in a reataurant.

I wouldn't want to travel with bad mannered people who think they can treat the locals in the country they are visiting badly. Also, a person who won't try the local food and drinks when offered. If someone is rude and xenophobic they should stay at home.

Fussy eaters.
Anyone seeking out British food or fast food when overseas.

I generally don't travel with anyone except DH & DC. I like to travel how it suits us & don't want to compromise. DH is too soft & will say yes to everything others want to do, to be polite. I'll end up not doing anything I want. I'd be on most people's no list!!

But my absolute deal breaker is people who want to shop, sit by pool or stick to tourist restaurants and attractions, refuse to engage with locals & get out of their comfort zones.

❌️If you aren't confident as a traveller using travel agents can be a stepping stone, and some people save for rare holidays, they might have to watch the pennies..both those types need encouragement to give things a go...!!!
Id say someone who is judgemental about others less experienced is someone to avoid travelling with too...

Honestly @joseline, anyone who uses "wanna" regardless of holiday preferences or destination.

I am in complete agreement with you @joseline However I think there are degrees of difference in what sort of person you are IRO of being away, are you a holiday maker, a tourist, a traveller, an adventurer, or an expeditionist, and each comes with a different set of requirements and expectations. I think it is important to go with someone that is like-minded. I also don't think any of them are wrong, they are just different. x

Anyone who doesn’t understand that I am tired and my fondest wish is to sleep, read my book, and eat good food.

This is why I don’t travel with people.
It is also why sometimes I take a holiday by simply booking a hotel down the street from my house, so I can mentally separate from life’s demands, but not waste time, money, or energy.
