Help me find the perfect seafront holiday cottage. Please!

I’m looking for an actual beachfront cottage in the UK ~ not one of those places that advertises a “seaview” but the sea is just a dot on the horizon. I would love to be able to step straight onto the beach and sit outside with my morning coffee, or evening wine, watching the waves.

It needs to be dog-friendly, have its own parking, and I’d prefer a cottage rather than an apartment. Definitely not St Ives though, it’s way too busy, and I can never find parking there!

I’ve been searching for ages and getting nowhere, so I’m hoping someone here might know of a hidden gem.

Any recommendations would be amazing.

We have stayed in one in Anglesey, a shingle beach but lovely view. You go down a set of steps if I remember right. We stayed in the Beach House which is a lovely cabin.
There is also Blue Sails nextdoor which is on the beach, this is the bigger house.
To reach both properties you drive down a private lane, plenty of parking and dog friendly.

Have a look at Willy Wilcox cottage in Polperro. It's right above Polperro Beach. It's a gorgeous cottage too.

Apologies if neither of the above are dog friendly,
forgot to check

Check out the holiday cottages in beesands in south Devon - right on the sea front and all dog friendly!

Sounds lovely but I would be concerned about flooding potential.

Don't knew why MN hid that, maybe because it was an Expedia link. It's not mine- only wish it was Grin

There are a few right above the quieter part of the beach in Portreath. This is one, screenshot from Expedia. But there are a few there.
Or at the next beach along in Porthtowan there is a stunning old mill building, right on the dunes, that I've always wanted to stay in & admired from the beach and both the excellent local pub and bar.

You've got me wishing it was early summer now. I want to try them all

This site lets you filter by direct beach access and pet friendly too. Just check if the beaches are dog friendly as many have dog exclusion dates in peak summer

She's only going for a holiday, not buying the place.

Oh wow! Some great looking suggestions. I got caught up in entertaining some unexpected Christmas guests which I managed to fill them with the last of the mince pies and send them on their way.

Now perched with a sherry and the chance to look at the links 😃

@MrsDrDear
This looks incredible. Anglesey is somewhere I've not been since I was a child and would love to go back and explore.

Have a look at a site called Best of Suffolk, there's some lovely places on there. We booked a little fisherman's cottage in Thorpeness right next to the beach.

This is absolute perfection! I would actually want to live here.

We're planning another trip to Scotland September/October and this is going on that list. Thank you!

I love it that much I'd just have to leave the dog at home if it wasn't dog-friendly 😆

This location is stunning but we need min 2 bedrooms and this is only 1 bed. I should have mentioned in my OP

FBM holidays in south wales have loads - filter by dog friendly and waterside views and there are several pages - for waking out onto the beach Ferryside and Freshwater are probably best plus saunderstead.

Quite a few beachfront cottage on Rhosneigr on Anglesey that are holiday cottages. We stayed in one a few weeks ago where the gardne opened onto the sand
