Any recommendations for the above please, for a special occasion? Happy to pay c£500 a night. It’s in the next few months. Want central location. TIA.

We loved Treehouse. The rooms aren't particularly fancy but they're all different, the views are amazing and dining is superb.

Thank you - that one did come up when I was doing some research into this earlier. But always good to hear first hand experiences!

A friend of mine got married at Zetter Townhouse hotel. Whilst I never stayed, the food, staff and ambience were amazing.

BearFacedCheek · 03/09/2024 22:38

@Forgottenmyphone I saw the Zetters too!
Do know which one the wedding was at?
I can’t remember know which one I was looking at.

It was at the Clerkenwell one.

The Standard is lovely and very cool. Good location too.

SoulMole · 04/09/2024 07:18

And also here: https://www.foxclublondon.com/rooms but the room did come with a "sex box" instead of a mini bar. 😆

Treehouse is nice. We stayed in a suite when we went with our dog. Nice roof bar and helpful staff. Room was good size and bed very comfortable.

Have you looked on Mr and mrs Smith

They specialise in boutique hotels and have plenty in London

We love Mr and Mrs Smith hotels have used them alot as we got discount via Vitality Health Insurance

Thanks @Waiting4Autumm
Yeah, I did look at their website, but there were lots of hotels on there. So I thought I’d ask for specific recommendations, as it’s always good to get hear hand experiences.
Thanks though as I have a Vitality policy - so good to know.

Didn’t come across any of those @SoulMole and @FormerlySpeckledyHen so thanks. I’ll check them out.

We really didn't rate the standard. Tiny rooms, nothing that special (though we didn't pay for the best room). We liked the bar though. Also, why is the reception tucked behind a corner causing annoying queues all the time??

potplantsinparadise · 04/09/2024 20:24

It's a chain, but the Mandarin Oriental is extremely naice.

Letsdoit123 · 04/09/2024 20:35

Hazlitt’s is lovely and it’s sister hotel too, both very central.

I loved Batty Langley's in Spitalfields - not sure whether that's central enough for you. We stayed in the cheapest rooms but thought it was lovely. If you do like the look of it, I would go for a bigger room because the bed wasn't huge. Lots of 'surprise and delight' though.

I love ham yard.

not keen on the standard - it’s a bit average.

I’m quite fond of montagu on the gardens if you want decent change from your £500. the rooms are all different and really quirky and I’ve always had excellent service. It’s definitely a four star though.
