and I was hoping to invite my sister and husband for 2 nights there and they would sleep on the floor on airbeds. Is this being cheeky? There isn't a two bed available. It's a remote property apart from one neighbour. I don't know if this is the owner. There is nothing in the Terms and Conditions about extra people other than saying it is for a couple or a solo traveller. Would you chance it? Are renters allowed to have cameras at their property?

Presumably you'd be breaching the terms of their insurance if it's overpopulated. You could risk it but the owner is likely to be very pissed off with you if they find out.

If you haven't cleared it with the owner/property manager then yes, you are being a CF.

As an owner I wouldn’t be happy with this. More people mean more wear and tear, especially in winter. That’s why we don’t allow over-occupation. It’s also so that everyone is comfortable.
I would cancel or terminate a booking for this. Rent a two bed property if you want to change your plans in this way.

No this is terrible. Imagine if everyone did this. The place would go mouldy from condensation, the water bills would be double, more electric, more wear and tear on everything! Pay for a 2 bed property if that's what you want!

I own a holiday cottage and I wouldn't allow this. The cottage is only suitable for 1 bedroom use and if you were caught doing this I'd ask you to leave. It's all there in our Ts andCs!

My mother in law would put in an extra bed. I would be fine if you had been before. Just depends really. But no I wouldn't do it without asking.

No it is a one bed cottage with a double bed which myself and H will sleep in.

It might invalidate their licence. Our short term letting licence states the maximum occupancy allowed. It also affects things like the business insurance. If I was the owner and found out you'd invited extra guests I wouldn't be happy.
