Can please someone advise: I don't have disabled badge, am I allowed to park Mon-Fri 8:30am-6:30pm and am I allowed to park outside those hours?

Am I allowed to park here or not?

Not I would say.

LemonTwist · 23/08/2020 16:34

No, you need a disabled badge at any time but there are restrictions on the length of stay at the times stated

NeutralJanet · 23/08/2020 16:34

It reads to me as blue badge holders only at all times and the times mentioned are clarifying the amount of time that said blue badge holder is allowed to occupy the space.

Mumdiva99 · 23/08/2020 16:35

No...i don't think so. Disabled badge holders only...And they have to follow the parking rules of 4 hours only etc.

minisoksmakehardwork · 23/08/2020 16:35

Is say there's 2 sets of restrictions. Disabled badge holders can park at any fine. Others can park within the restricted times. It's how I'd read it anyway.

Ffsnosexallowed · 23/08/2020 16:43

Blue badge holders can park there anytime. Others can park fir 4 hours during hours stated

Fluandseptember · 23/08/2020 16:43

My reading is ONLY BB holders. And within the restricted times, for a max of 4 hours

FelicityPike · 23/08/2020 16:46

No, it’s blue badge holders only.

AgainstAllOdds1 · 23/08/2020 16:46

It's no restrictions for bb holders. The timed restrictions for all others. So yes.

dancemom · 23/08/2020 16:47

Yes you can between those hours stated.

GinWithRosie · 23/08/2020 16:47

That's very ambiguously worded!! I wouldn't know...and I'd be ringing the council to complain about the ambiguity of such a badly worded sign if I was a local!!

Austereorange · 23/08/2020 16:52

The line delineates two sets of rules. If the restrictions related to BB holders the the text line which says ‘at any time’ would not be there as there would not be anything which ‘at any time’ applied to. Nor would the line be there.

Therefore by default it is

  • parking for BB holders at any time
  • parking for non BB holders within the restrictions shown
msbevvy · 23/08/2020 16:52

I read it as blue badge holders only and they can only park for 4 hours during the restricted times

BlackPuddingEggs · 23/08/2020 16:53

I think it must be only blue badge holders and then they have restrictions at peak time. It would be very odd otherwise to say others could park for up to 4 hours at peak times, but not at others. But it is very ambiguous.

RedCatBlueCat · 23/08/2020 16:54

Id read that as BB holders any time, for any length of time.
Everyone else, yes but only for 4 hours during the week. Weekends free for all.

Austereorange · 23/08/2020 16:55

Also to add, if it was ONLY relating to BB holders it would clearly says ‘BB Holders Only’ (they all do if that’s the case)

Ilikewinter · 23/08/2020 16:56

Disabled badge holders can park anytime,no restrictions. Everyone else follow the restrictions on the bottom sign.
Have you parked and received a ticket by any chance!?

BertiesLanding · 23/08/2020 16:56

I think you can, yes, by going by the lower guidelines. Disabled badge-holders, on the other hand, can disregard the restrictions and park any time.

MarshaBradyo · 23/08/2020 16:57

How unclear is that

Could be either way

Nikori · 23/08/2020 16:59

I think this too!
FlamingoAndJohn · 23/08/2020 16:59

I would say that the line shows it is two different set of instructions.
Blue Badge holders can park there whenever they like.
Everyone else just for 4 hours at the times stated.

If BB holders had to stick to the times then why would it say 'at any time' at the bottom of the bit about BB holders.

ScarMatty · 23/08/2020 17:00

This.
Austereorange · 23/08/2020 17:00

Sorry 3rd post on here! I used to work for a local authority but not that one.

I’ve just checked and parking restriction signs with a line horizontally delineate separate ‘items’. Each item is separate from the others. It’s part of the Traffic Parking and Regulations Act of 2002.

So it is 100% two instructions. One for BB holders and one for other parkers.

HTH

LynetteScavo · 23/08/2020 17:01

Yes, you can park there Monday- Friday 8:30- 6:30 for 4 hours max. Blue badge holders can park anytime.

I take it you also have to pay to park? 4 hours is quite generous. Around here you only get 2 hours but the shops are crap so that's not an issue

MarshaBradyo · 23/08/2020 17:02
