south wales coast ..anyone know good b&b's, beaches, places to eat...

just got a four / five days and need to take urban child out of this city for a change of horizon..build some sandcastles and feel fresh air again..

was thinking near tenby/pembrokeshire coast but dont know south wales..any ideas?

oh, anyone know if is it sunny?
its been dreich here for days on end just cant take it anymore

Tenby is a fab place to be based - fantastic beach in the town, loads of really isolated beaches near by. Lots to do if it does rain.

We went to Cornwall this year but much prefered south/west wales!

Bosherton lily ponds are worth a visit and have an empty beach at the end of a nice walk. Freshwater West - lovely beach (10 minute walk down steep path though).

folly farm really good for a wet day.

WE stayed at St. Dogamels - it was lovely. There is a nice sandy beach near by and a lovely pub overlooking the estery. st davids is not far awat. WE did a lovely boat trip round an island.

Another vote for Broadhaven and Bosherston. Good pub nearby too, and a couple of B&B's and a camp site. Don't know what the weather's doing though!

the cottages look great but not really got a whole week..and like to tour about a bit too...

have been to mountains and north wales but never this bit..

trying to find children friendly b&b's, nice restuarants and beachy cove places sort of thing..

..and its too fecking cold and windy and miserable to be go out to library here....

this is the most depressed i have ever been over the weather! if i wanted this i could've stayed in scotland .....its probably nice there now....

Well, if you do go down to Bosherston/Broad Haven, the St Govan's Inn is child friendly. It's a tiny little hamlet really, so not many B&B's, but you might find something. Don't confuse it with the other Boradhaven which is bigger and a bit further round the coast! Pembroke is good, nearby, and has lots of B&Bs and the castle is great - lots of towers to clamber round, that sort of thing, and the town has lots of pubs/chippies etc.

Folly Farm is great for little ones, as someone mentioned, for in betweeny days, although a lot's outside too.

Pembrokeshire coast is really lovely. Walked the coast with dh pre-kids. Is there acoastal village called Newquay there or have I misremembered the name. At any rate, it is really lovely.

It's a great place if you can get in, walkable to the beach, or there's a NT carpark at the end anyway.

Wiseman's Bridge is lovely - they do great food at the pub - the rockpooling on the beach is fantastic, and if you want a sandy beach, the blue flag beach at Saundersfoot is around a coast path (flat, and cyclable).

The Dinosaur Park is also a good day out - near Tenby ...

No, the Broadhaven I've been waxing lyrical about is nearer Pembroke. Often known as Broadhaven South. The other is further round the coast, which is also a lovely area.

Barafundle is lovely - but iirc it's a long walk from the car park, and no loos!
