Just so you know it is gorgeous here at the mo, sunny with blue sky and some cloud, bit of wind but that's normal!
Apparently it's meant to last well into weekend as well...
I am in Swansea but same goes for Tenby way take a look!

We go down to Stackpole Quay every February and stay in the National Trust cottages there (absolutely wonderful, I can heartily recommend them!), and we walk across to Barafundle every day when we're there, and it takes us about 15-20 minutes (depending upon how quickly ds - who's 4 takes)

There aren't any toilets there, in fact there's nothing there but a beautiful beach, but it's one of my favourite places in the whole world...

Have just been to Freshwater East - stayed with Coastal Cottages, 5 min (sand duny) walk to beach. Fabby views.

Whatever you do DO NOT go to Manor House Animal Park - absolute waste of money, stayed there all of 45 minutes! Nothing open, very few sorry looking animals (who I felt extremely sorry for ). Quite clearly suffering from the Heaton Park attraction which is opposite and is very, very good.

We stayed here in May

not a b&b but a lovely child friendly cottage.

Loved Whitesands Bay and Barafundle, which was lovely, a bit of a trek with a 3 year old but well worth it, a stunning beach.

In fact we had a lovely holiday, was really impressed with the pembrokeshire coast, very unspoilt and un touristy.

Another vote for Whitesands Bay, many a happy childhood holiday spent there.

I want to come to - shame can't let someone else have this baby for me next week!

We've been the first 2 weeks in September for last 2 years and have really good weather.

Much less touristy than Cornwall, parking in loads cheaper (if not free). Loads of castles for kids to run around. Don't really have to plan things to do you can just drive along and things find you.

suzycreamcheese · 21/08/2007 22:28

oh loler, good luck with the baby!..wishing you all the best wishes..

..and you can plan her first holiday..when ready of course!

dh thinking of changing car hire to tomorrow thanks to chirpy girl weather update

thanks for all the tips and things

oooooh we lurve tenby.

We had a fab 2 weeks there at start of hols.

Beaches great in tenby and lots of others nearby if you want to explore - I wd rec Barafundle (busy-ish), Broad Haven South (that's the one near Bosherton loler mentions), Freshwater West or Whitesands Bay (near St DAvid's) for surfing.

Lots of places to eat in Tenby or nice pubs in area - we liked Stackpole Inn.

BadHair · 22/08/2007 00:18

Another vote for Tenby - we stay here at Lydstep. Angle Bay is just beautiful, totally unspoilt, and Manorbier, although stony, is perfect for kite-flying, walking etc. Small but interesting castle there too. I could go on forever as that whole area is just fantastic - perfect for holidays with children.
