Luxury Spa Hotel with Children in SE

We're looking to have a nice night away with our DDs 5 and 3 in July just after they've broken up from school / preschool for our anniversary. I'd love any recommendations for somewhere with a nice spa, good room service and somewhere child-friendlish - mine are v well behaved, so I feel like it would be ok to take them to a naice hotel now. This would not have been the case a year or two ago!

I've been thinking about Lime Wood or Chewton Glen but these are a little bit of a drive (and the traffic is always shocking in summer) for one night and that's all we can do with the holiday DH has left. We've been to these hotels before and to Babington, and that's the sort of thing I'm looking for. We're close to Brighton and have been to Ockenden Manor a few times, which is nice but it's not the same as Lime Wood / Babington. Does anyone have a recommendation for a similar hotel in Surrey / Sussex / Kent?

What about Center Parcs?

The spa at Sherwood is amazing and lots of activities for kids

Stoke-by-Nayland Spa Hotel is lovely and I have seen kids there before (roughly between ages 8-12 though so not quite as young as your DC) . Although it is on the Suffolk/Essex border so more East than South-East. Highly recommend the Afternoon Tea if you do head there.

We're going to Center Parcs in August for our main summer holiday with my parents - we love Center Parcs so much! But I'd really like something a bit more geared towards adults and, I know it sounds snobby, but a but more luxurious than CP. That makes me sound awful

Woolley grange hotel in Bradford on Avon - but I guess if you’re heading out that way you’d go to Babington instead

Ah, I've looked at Woolley Grange and I'd love to go but for one night it's just a bit too far. I'm definitely going to consider for a break next year though. Stoke-by-Nayland looks lovely - and a NEOM spa - swoon!

Cliveden House is incredible, and is operated by the same company who run Chewton Glen...

Park House in Bepton near Midhurst - we love it there (3 DC’s)

I've been to Chewton with other small children and it was fine? We'd literally be doing a bit of a swim (at the kids time), walking in the grounds, dinner in the room as room service / movie night, early breakfast.... plus loads of the rooms are geared up for families now? Why wouldn't you go there with little ones - just out of interest? Maybe it's changed since I went?

Probably too far for you but Calcot Manor? There is child friendly & then there is Calcot with a fabulous spa & 2 restaurants - 1 of which kids can eat in.

Yep, Cotswolds is a bit too far too. But so many nice hotels to think about for next year

The Grove, Chandlers Cross, Watford.
It has been YEARS since I went (bagged a freebie due to DHs job) but from what I remember it was amazing for small children. Fully stocked changing areas, nappies, toiletries so I was never caught short. Baby friendly pool, in house baby sitters...dd even had room service baby food!!
It will be a pricey one but might be worth it for something extra special.

I second the grove! Absolutley gorgeous hotel, right off the motorway too so easy to get to if you're driving

Did they still have the pool with the black tiles op?I don’t know why but I just couldn’t swim in it...I couldn’t see the bottom and it freaked me out 😂

Pennyhill Park isn't very child friendly in my experience!

I don't think we'd go to Penny Hill Park, we had a bad experience with extraordinarily rude staff when we looked around for our wedding. It might be lovely but DH would need a lot of convincing.

I've just contacted Park House. It would take us less than an hour to drive there and it looks like the facilities tick all the boxes.

The Landmark Hotel in Marylebone is lovely. I don't have children but when we stayed in March, there were a few pottering round and lapping up the attention from staff. Fab spa, lovely cocktails and a great room service menu
