LAKE DISTRICT: Can anyone recommend a marriage-saving place to stay

I'm thinking of 2 or 3 nights

its all subject to sister in Manchester committing to taking the brats though

I've never stayed there but the food at the Lodore is very nice and the views (even from the garden!) are breathtaking. We've had lovely "pub lunches" there three years running. Lodore Falls Hotel

Twig, I am just so envious that you have this chance, and wherever you go it will be fabulous, and I hope you have a wonderful time.

We will be at Ullswater at half term, in a v scruffy cottage, and Ds will be shrieking at Howtown because minnows are very easy to catch under the bridge there!

Oh, bugger - just seen this again in active convos, and noticed the great big LAKE DISTRICT at the beginning of the title...clearly my earlier suggestion of Burford must have looked a tad odd

Giraffeski I have bookedmarked your sister's hotel as ILs live in Arnside and am attempting to talk DH into a night (or two) away next time we are up there

I would love to go to the lakes without children. twig do you think your sister would notice if there were 2 6yo boys and 2 2yo girls - company for each other and all that?
