YHA in london for dd and myself in easter holidays

Never stayed at a Yha hostel but dd soon to be 10 wants a trip to london for her birthday. Was thinking of taking her to a west end show and staying a night or 2.

I'm looking to do this all as cheap as possible. Be a single mum on a crap wage just can't afford to do it any other way.

Plus do educate me more about YHA hostels.

I think some universities rent out halls of residence as well which may be better. Not sure which though, but remember looking at one on the net last year.

Just had a look through the threads as I would like to take my children to London this year - also on a shoestring - and there are some ideas here

We stayed at the St Pauls one last year because we are a family of 5 and wanted to share a room (Ruling out most hotels).

The security seemed almost non exsistent, and DD and I did encounter a very amorous couple in a corridor on a late night trip to the loo.

The cafe was closed as the staff were ill! Hmm

The room seemed clean enough until DS lost a coin and I lfted the mattress to look for it. Urgh.

I wouldn't go back but we have used YHA many times in the past and this is not typical. Maybe have a look at some of the other hostels on their website.

I think you get YHA membership free with a friends and family railcard Wink
