Im so upset, I found a wonderful holiday for Easter school holidays. It was to scotland which I have wanted to go on forever!! IT was a bargain price and even looked at train prices. All DH had to do was book the days off work but he hasnt, and i am so mad because now when I looked the lodges have all sold out :( and he told me I couldnt book it till he booked it off

Please can someone please help me, I need to find something ASAP :(

The autisim is only a concern as in, not too near roads to run off or near loud noises. Needs to be safe as one is only 3 years old. I dont have much about £250-£300 as train is costly too.
As long as its quiet, and nice to look at.

Oh tch I'm just fed up with people talking about 'going to Scotland' like it's a county or a theme park or something.

I am going to assume you're in England OP and therefore would prefer somewhere in the south of Scotland - I have been to some nice places in Dumfries and Galloway. Kirkcudbright for example. Not sure about trains though will have a look.

OK - these are not far from St Andrews, so train to Leuchars/Dundee and then cab (not really busable).

Auchrannie on Arran is supposedly very family-friendly. I love Arran but haven't been to this exact place. It's definitely doable by public transport (train to Glasgow then Ardrossan, ferry over to Brodick). They have lodges and apparently there's a lounge with play areas off, and there are self-catering lodges too. Not sure how old your DC are, but I was getting a rave review by a friend who has various Dc between 5 and 15.

I wouldnt consider camping as we are all the way near London and have our own camping stuff but am not towing my camping that far! There is a train straight from here to Edinborough

My mum and dad once went here and raved about it (was quite a while ago). Not sure if you could get a bus from Dunoon otherwise you'd need to take a cab from the ferry.

If you want the London-Edinburgh train route, then maybe somewhere near Berwick/Dunbar ish, or maybe just outside Edinburgh.

There is a train station nearby in the town centre. You get the use of the leisure centre / pool etc. Gorgeous scenery, close to iNverness.

Highly recommend it.
