DD (3) already had the car and caravan, which she loves, and the St John's school (handed down from older sister, gets played with less).

We're looking for something for her next birthday eg. a house, or other building. Any recommedations?

A LARGE HOUSE

dd loves the caravan, and her large house off ebay

shes not played with the hospital or shop as much

so id say go for a house

fatsatsuma · 09/05/2011 19:17

My dd has the treehouse,it has lots of play value with a river, slide and board walk.Think only Toys R Us sell it now,we got a huge discount on it at Xmas.

carriedababi · 09/05/2011 20:22
Smile its often not mucg cheaper on ebay though! they sell well second hand! the little critters

oh the treehouse is nice, and the windmill

fatsatsuma · 09/05/2011 20:24

Hmm, liking the sound of the treehouse.

Carriedababi, you're right about ebay, especially with hefty postage on top.

DD is 9y and still aodres SF and plays with it a lot.

I would say you need to get a house of some form. DD has the windmill which is pretty cool. She also has two smaller houses. The pony and caravna is very cute, and she likes the canal boat too.

The car, bus and motorcycle and sidecar are nice extras.

DD also has the church, beauty salon, nursery school, park, and hospital, all of which are played with as part of her games. She has various smaller sets too to build up her village - pizza place, Sainsburys store, ice cream parlour, juice bar, pancake/waffle bar, camping set, toy stall, etc.

fatsatsuma · 09/05/2011 20:28

Just had a look - I do like the treehouse, but it's a bit £££... Was hoping for something nearer £50.

DD's favourites were the windmill and the canal boat. Don't know if Trudy still do them, as DD is 21 now!

RustyBear · 09/05/2011 20:31

Trudy??? Why the iPad thinks some random Trudy makes Sylvanians is beyond me, obviously I meant they still do them....

SybilBeddows · 09/05/2011 20:31

my dd fortunately has decided she wants not the PROPER windmill (£70 or 80) but the baby windmill (around £40 I think).

said · 09/05/2011 20:33

The nursery gets a lot of play (and Sylvanian toddlers are gorgeous!)

Hulababy · 09/05/2011 20:33

\link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003SYBKVS/ref=oss_product\This is the windmill} DD got. In November last year she got in on special offer from Amazon for £59.

RustyBear · 09/05/2011 20:40

The windmill's had an extension built since DD's time - hers looked like this

NormanTheForeman · 09/05/2011 20:42

Sorry, am not much good with Sylvanians, as we don't have any. I know quite a bit about Playmobil though..... Wink

carriedababi · 09/05/2011 21:14

lol

carriedababi · 09/05/2011 21:20

hulababy, how does oyur dd store keep hers?

got any good tips?

as we have quite a good collection now as me and dd love them

i was thinking of buildiong some sort of play table

LIZS · 10/05/2011 08:56

Ours live under dd's mid height bed. we have several houses and the previous windmill, hospital, shops, bakery, bus, car , canal boat... dd is almost 10 but still keen , currently saving for the new school. I'd like to get a large bit of hardboard and paint he base as the market stalls topple over easily on carpet. We got some deals from thetoyshop.com (The Entertainer on line store) and argos which included add on furniture and figures. There is Sycamore cottage around for about £30 with basic furniture which would make a good start.

carriedababi · 10/05/2011 13:22

liz that is an excellent idea!

i need to move dd upto a normal sixed bed soon, shes in juinor cotbed

where did you get her bed? that sounds like a fab idea

LIZS · 10/05/2011 15:26

It's a Flexa bed - you can buy different height legs to raise it form a normal level to a higher level or even use as bunks.

carriedababi · 10/05/2011 15:41

liz is this the one ?
here

wow thats really cool, never seen a bed like that before.

i think i might get my dd one

how old is your dd ?
what height does she have it on?

my dd is 4 soon

LIZS · 10/05/2011 15:49

That's the one - dd has the whitewash , ds the natural pine. She's 9 now and has had it mid height since about 5/6. ds still at that level at 13! Both had the low level as their first beds.

carriedababi · 10/05/2011 15:52

oh that is brill, so if i get the mid sleeper i can get extra legs to raise it higher when shes bigger?

will it be easy for me to do as dh is useless at diy stuff

oh yes i like the white wash that s really nice

i think dd will be ok at mid height as shes been in a bed a while now

LIZS · 10/05/2011 15:54

You cna buy whatever combinations you choose. It will take both of you to put it together though as it is pretty heavy.

carriedababi · 10/05/2011 15:57

thanks for the advice

i'll show that to dh tonight, i can imagine it great with all the toys set out below

don't suppose theres much head height to play underneath if its set out at mid height is there?

i really like that, and the ones with the straight ladder as you dont need to allow so much space for the ladder

Malvapoeding · 10/05/2011 15:57

DD1 has the little windmill and it is great - we bought loads when Sainsburys had their half price toy sale. DD now desperately wants the tree house.
