DD (3) already had the car and caravan, which she loves, and the St John's school (handed down from older sister, gets played with less).

We're looking for something for her next birthday eg. a house, or other building. Any recommedations?

liz just re-read your posts
and i can see you do have yours at mid height

oh i've love to see a pictureSmile

is there enough room for you to get under there and play with your dd with them?

LIZS · 10/05/2011 16:40

Just about ! The mid height gives about 75cm clearance underneath.

carriedababi · 10/05/2011 16:51

lol i can see us two under there

better get saving!

how much do the extra legs and ladder cost?
can seem to find it on the website

i really do like that

LIZS · 10/05/2011 16:56

Ladder and legs start from just over £100. You'd need basic bed , ladder/legs and surrounding rails. here

This thread has grown since I last looked Grin

Storage will be an issue for us too.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I hope DD3 will still be playing with sylvanian families when she's 9+ - it certainly seems to have a wide age-range appeal.

How do we store it? lol, not well!!! TBF it is generally already set up in DD's bedroom ready to play with. It is right now an dhas been for a few weeks. She does play with it most of the time and choses it over her other toys. So it is tidish, but out, mid game.

In theory we have an IKEA bookacse with some pink storage case box things insde it which all but the biggest items fit into.

KatyMac · 10/05/2011 17:22

DD had hers at about 4 & never played with them

I now have a family 4 room sets (2 boxed) food & china on eBay

I do hop your DD enjoys hers

fatsatsuma · 10/05/2011 18:54

My DD1 had some and didn't play with it much, but DD3 has really taken to it. Different toys appeal to different children I guess.

Re storage, Hulababy, I agree that if it's being played with a lot then it doesn't need to be 'stored'. But DD's bedroom is tiny and I couldn't face climbing over it to get to her bed (or worse, treading on tiny squirrels/falling over their caravan in the middle of the night...)

Most of her toys are in the living room, and much as we love DD's toys, we do like to clear them away in the evenings Grin

DD's got a big sort of manor house and it has been one of her favourite toys of all time with loads of play options. She also loves her Sylvanian Burger Wagon which comes with loads of cooking items.

carriedababi · 11/05/2011 16:06

oh yes think my dd would like the burger wagon!
