Average bmi, higher subcutaneous fat %. What can I do?

According to my scales my bmi is average at 19.8. Subcutaneous body fat is 28% which scales say is high.

I walk daily and workout a few times a week using light dumbbells as I've read light ones are apparently better at my age (50s) but the fat isn't shifting.

What can I do? Thanks

You don’t need to use light weights!

  1. I don’t think 28% is that high
  2. the fat scales are very inaccurate. Do you feel/look fat?
  3. you can definitely do heavier weights to build muscle
  4. if you want to lose body fat you will need to look at your diet as well

No, the science is increasingly suggesting that post-menopausal women should lift heavy weights.
