High protein low calorie meal ideas!

Hi,

I need to lose two stone! I'm sick of feeling uncomfortable and miserable. I have 3 young children so don't have much time, I always get stuck when it comes to meal ideas! It's like my brain can't think. As many suggestions for meal ideas would be great, particularly lunch time as that's when I get so lost and end up reaching for rubbish.

Hi OP, I was exactly the same as you a couple of years ago. I got a copy of one of the Fast 800 Michael Mosley recipe books for ideas. I didn’t follow it religiously at all but just used it for ideas and inspiration. It massively helped with the stuck mind!

PS if this thread doesn’t get much traction I would consider reposting on the Food/Recipes board which is pretty busy.

@coco111 I've made these this week, BBC good food has pretty good/every day recipes in my experience

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/mexican-chicken-stew-quinoa-beans (I've had this just as a soup for lunch without the side, it's got a lot more chicken than a regular soup would so it's pretty hearty)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/softened_sweet_onion_and_80481 (I reduced the oil significantly to keep it lower calorie and it was fine, cooked with some green veg)

My go to for a work lunch is just some marinated chicken cooked in a pan the night before and stuffed in a wrap with avocado. It's not super low calorie but it's substantial enough that I only need the wrap, not all the snacks that I'm otherwise tempted by during the work day!

I'm exactly the same as you. Mind goes blank after a long day at work, plus I don't like cooking. Bought Fast 800 Easy and Fast800 Keto this weekend. Haven't tried any recipes yet, but can already see they will get me out of a rut, like the poster above.

Chicken breast, grilled with steamed broccoli and grilled tomatoes. Add a teaspoon of mayonnaise (full fat as it’s not filled up with sugars) mixed with whole grain mustard for a touch of intense flavour.

Tuna steaks (Iceland) and tenderstem broccoli (also Iceland) with miso paste.

I eat low carb, high protein and keep things v simple

Salad with leaves, veggies, avocado, pine nuts, then vary the toppings with e.g. cottage cheese, egg mayo, tuna, baked salmon etc
Stir fried veg with cubed chicken thighs and cauliflower rice (i make a stir fry sauce of soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, honey, sesame oil, gochujang, garlic, ginger and chilli)
Roast chicken with loads of veg
3 or 4 egg omelette with spinach and cheese
Steak with veg (i like charred cabbage, broccoli and a rocket and parmesan salad)
