WTAF. A friend sent me a link today which showed an advertisement with a picture of my son. Only thing is….it’s not my son! I have looked at the photo for ages and can’t understand it. Like my son, the person in the photo has no earlobes and also a slight abnormality on the rim of his ear.

I keep going back to look at the photo, trying to find something different in the photo, to distinguish the person from my son, but I can’t! The person even has the same haircut as my son, which makes it even weirder! Has anyone else ever come across something like this?

When I was about 16, I got home from school and my mum said she had been in Belfast (30 miles away from where I went to school) and she saw a girl walking who she swore was me. She was approaching to ask why I wasn't in school and realised she was wearing a different school's uniform!

I have had a few people I've been mistaken for over the years, but repeatedly and to the point where their own friends have thought I ws playing some sort of joke when I have explained I am not that person. Each time though, I and the person I was mistaken for, have not thought we were that similar at all!
Alongside that but not the same - i very regularly meet people for the first time who say to me "i feel like we've met before / do I know you from somewhere?" and it's always someone I'm sure I have never met (happens in different countries / people from all over) when I stress i really don't think we can have met, the resounding comment is always "Oh you seem really familiar" as if I have some sort of "familiar" quality. I'd be fascinated to know psychologically what the explanation for that is!
