. . . and it's only a fun local one but within hacking distance - planning to do working hunter, show jumping (2' 9, woohoo!) and the minimus . PLEASE let him not go mad when he gets there, will be first 'event' since he was banned from pony club a few years ago.

Does anyone know if it is likely to be absolutely vital to have brown tack for working hunter at a little village show?

Working on at the moment? Errrr...... That's the problem really just feel like I'm going round in circles (quite literally). Still hunting for good instructor, the one I thought I'd found can't fit us in yet and another one I was hopeful about is on leave until December. And, no menage and only uneven field to school in not helping.

Keep thinking they've only just turned 4 so plenty of time but then worry I'll be saying that when they're 7. Oh ignore me, I'm just having a whinge.

how frustrating for you, no horsey mumsnetters nearby with a nice school to lend you?

No, well not that anyone's admitting to anyway! But I've found an instructor! Well, fingers crossed, touch wood, and all that. He used to work for a very famous showjumper (he will be my tenuous claim to fame) so I might catch up with you yet Mitchy! Never I'm not that brave or mad I'll keep you posted.

Ooooh, are you allowed to say who? when do you start?

I haven't actually been on for days because I feel half dead a bit wiped out

I've catted you. It's not that exciting really but don't want to count my chickens too soon as might jinx myself. I'm losing count of the attempts I've made to find a free-lance instructor.

Are you feeling rough as an after-effect of the swine flu do you think? The after effects of a nasty virus can last for ages can't they. Take care of yourself.

I've perked up considerably after looking at certain legends on youtube! I really hope this comes through for you, very exciting possibility. And you must share what you learn!
