. . . and it's only a fun local one but within hacking distance - planning to do working hunter, show jumping (2' 9, woohoo!) and the minimus . PLEASE let him not go mad when he gets there, will be first 'event' since he was banned from pony club a few years ago.

Does anyone know if it is likely to be absolutely vital to have brown tack for working hunter at a little village show?

I've managed to avoid facebook so far thanks.

MitchyInge · 26/07/2009 13:45

oh it would be nice to see that, we could pester mnhq for a video upload facility - that would be cool

I don't think you're missing much on facebook, I have long spells of deactivated account then reactivate only to wonder why I bothered - it's awkward having clients, family and friends all overlapping like that!

am still insanely excited

although the holes in my girth straps have sort of joined up to form one long and not very useful slit so hopefully we can get new ones fitted today, they said it would only take a day

Mitchy don't foget the video please! Is it the sideways jumper you are taking? How's the new pony settling in?

MitchyInge · 10/08/2009 17:36

Ahhhh it was bliss to get on today and go out with my daughter on the mini beast, I wished I was little enough to ride the pony though - she's so pretty and nice, and speedy! Barney and I wanted a gallop but we were both good and sensible polishes halo

If I did get a halfway decent video and link to it from here, would people be kind about how rubbish I am?

When is it Mitchy? - I was thinking about you this morning - god knows why

MitchyInge · 14/08/2009 10:09

Ah! I was wondering if you'd entered anything yet too!

23rd August, excitement is giving way to stomach churning panic that we might kill someone. Entered working hunter and 2'6 jumping and have asked someone to ride him in those while I wimp out and just do the clear round thing. I hope a more experienced rider will bring us success from a not-getting-banned point of view!

She wants him in a gag though, so need to borrow one from somewhere. Gulp!

Update update Mitchy! How did it go?

Pixel · 26/08/2009 15:47

I was wondering too, don't like the ominous silence one bit .

HairyMuff · 26/08/2009 22:37

Yes that was my fear too, the silence. Hope she hasn't been banned for life this time

Pixel · 28/08/2009 16:18

Still no sign...

Owls · 06/09/2009 18:29

Where is she......?!

Pixel · 07/09/2009 00:01

I hope she didn't fall off. Surely she should have been back by now to tell us how it all went? She didn't mention going on holiday or anything did she?

Owls · 07/09/2009 10:09

Ah, just stalked done a quick search and she does mention being away for a while on another thread.

MitchyInge · 10/09/2009 09:12

Aww you are all nice to remember us! Yes, have been house sitting and then having v limited internet connectivity - but he was amazing on his big day! How do people do it every weekend though? It was so much work and man, it was HOT! But it was also a 12 mile ride there and back and every time I got off (low hanging branches) and back on again I yanked out a few plaits and had to do emergency repairs!

Anyway he came 3rd in the 2'6 and 2nd in the 2'9! He was an absolute star (although I did have to borrow a gag once we arrived, just so we had some sort of brakes) and I am still smiling about it every time I see his rosettes! He was just getting into the swing of it when the day was over, but he bolted when we tried to pin a rosette on for the photo!

We also tried the minimus while it was quite low but he ran out at every jump and couldn't do the workers because an earlier accident in that ring made it overlap with the jumping. So all that plaiting was for nothing, except he looked gorgeous. I must find a photo without me in it, I look soooo fat on him

Well done Mitchy, I'm very impressed (and glad you are still alive ). I suppose you are addicted now you've tasted success. I would be, two rosettes at your first show, blimey!

I'm not sure my dhorse is going to be a jumper, since he seems to think it's more effecient to go through the fence.

Pixel · 10/09/2009 18:25

efficient

Owls · 10/09/2009 21:59

Whoo well done Mitchy! What's this rubbish about looking fat - just looked at your profile and no way.

Glad you had a great day. Come on - we need pics.

skihorse · 11/09/2009 11:19

lol@ all you guys who are "banned" for having the naughtiest horse in town!

Have you considered disguising him ItchyMinge - I'm thinking a nice black & white Fresian print?

MitchyInge · 11/09/2009 17:48

hahaha, he'd be scared of himself then - thinking he has turned into a cow!

have put up some pics - in one of them it looks like a refusal but after stopping and contemplating it for a few seconds he did eventually spring over and go clear. That's my boy

OP posts:
Owls · 11/09/2009 21:57

Mitchy, they are really good photos! Well done! So he jumped after the second photo?! And you look great so stop doing yourself down.

(Memo to self: Need to work on horse. And self - lots)

MitchyInge · 11/09/2009 22:24

thank you!

yes, he did it from a standstill - it's the first jump too, the clock had only just started ticking. Obviously he was debating whether to go sideways or not

what are you working on at the moment? I haven't done much since the show, but college starts again next week and we're starting the next BHS thing

skihorse · 12/09/2009 09:53

I love the pics - well done you!

Ponymum · 12/09/2009 12:21

What a brilliant result - well done! The photos look great. I am tres jealous.
