Look at this insane yard!

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this livery yard doing random googling today. Just LOOK at it 🤣. It's like a five star hotel for horses and humans. And a snip at only £1500 a month for full livery 😉😉

That looks amazing and a million miles away from the stables we go to! Where’s all the mud? £96 for an hour’s private tuition—guess it would be at a high level.

Hooverphobe · 30/11/2022 19:30

Struggling to see the problem myself - except for some of the stables facing the lockers - boring af for the nags.

I used a few like that on the continent where the owner’s lounge had beer on tap! 😁

XelaM · 30/11/2022 20:42

£1500 is very close to what Trent Park used to charge us monthly. Would rather have been at this place 😭

Really, wow! Is that down south?

I know! Look at the tack room!! It looks like it should be selling handbags not storing tack!

Think my dumpy 13.2 gypsy cob with mare-ittude would fit right in there 🤣🤣

It's in North London/Herts area

Moanranger · 30/11/2022 22:46

It’s in No Yorkshire, not London

I think the poster was asking where Trent Park was.

I wish this yard was in London (and I had money to pqy for it 😁)

Mine would definitely poo right in the walkway uncouth beast that he is.

alloalloallo · 02/12/2022 16:45

WOW - that arena

Where’s the mud, hay trails, cobwebs and tap that squirts water out at right angles? Or is that just my yard 😂

I could just imagine my 2 filthy cobs fitting right in there.

Sprat12 · 02/12/2022 16:56

That's incredible! Any idea who runs it? Would assume it's a 'name' to be able to afford a place like that in the first place.

Sprat12 · 02/12/2022 16:57

Oh never mind, I've found it. Looks like a show jumper but I'm not particularly hot on showjumping names

DeeofDenmark · 02/12/2022 17:10

It not even like “individual turnout” is the best thing for most horses who are gregarious creatures. Plus who wants to own a horse and just turn up to have it presented to you tacked up?

Er….me?

It’s winter, don’t come for me 😂

Ha I know! And there's a lounge overlooking the arena. To be fair I don't think there would be much to see for people watching me practice canter circles 🤣. Maybe for comedy effect only!!

@DeeofDenmark I do agree it's not quite normal horse ownership to just rock up and have a tacked up horse but it must be nice on days you were busy and presumably you can ask for them not to tack them up for you too.

Anyway it's completely out of my budget (ie zero) but it looks so lovely and so different from the usual muddy, messy, ramshackle yards I'm used to!!

OP posts:
DeeofDenmark · 02/12/2022 20:34

I guess I was just making the point that the pony on the ramshackle muddy yard turned out in a herd may well be happier/healthier.

Sonyrecording · 03/12/2022 09:42

Turnout obviously not a priority, there aren't even any photos of the outdoor space. Individual turnout would be a no for me and I wonder how much the horses actually get. Sometimes these setups are all about the humans.

TodayInahurry · 03/12/2022 15:38

Looks fantastic. You would be surprised how much money there is around, we have a horse recently arrived cost £500,000!

WetLettuce2 · 03/12/2022 21:28

I love it but my horse couldn’t care less about all the loveliness, so long as he’s got hay and company, the rest would be for my benefit (especially the tacking-up ready bit 😁).

This, exactly. It's lovely, and I'd certainly appreciate the indoor arena, and the stables are a good size if you're going to stable, but I'd far rather have a good chunk of turnout, small herds, with a well thought out track system in place.

bravelittletiger · 06/12/2022 18:24

I hadn't looked into the detail tbh as I'm not currently in the market for a yard and even if I was this is definitely not in my price range!! It's a good point though!

I just thought the facilities looked beautiful and it's all so clean compared to the yards I've ever been to!

As an aside apparently this is more what they are used to in europe- the sort of "country club" for horses as opposed to what we are used to in the uk with a tumble down block of stables and lots of mud (or is that just me 🤣) xx

Completely agree with this. Can’t bear this completely backward attitude to turnout . Socialisation is a welfare issue. If Frankel who is rumoured to be insured for 150million can get proper turn out so can your bog standard warm blood

CaptainThe95thRifles · 06/12/2022 20:14

Oh, don't get me wrong, OP, if I could have such beautiful stables just for tacking up in / essential stabling and the indoor to play in, as well as an extensive all year turnout system on my own yard, I'd be delighted!

Alas, I'm not in the "beautiful yard" price bracket. A bit of mud and a tumble down pile of bricks is more my territory😂
