Recommend a farrier in Suffolk?

Desperate. Don't ask what happened to the last one, of the others who visit current yard only one can take us on and he doesn't do traditional shoes (does cytek). It's IP14, or Debenham to be a bit more precise.

Simon Hadingham is great, but comes from over Beccles way, so not sure he would come as far as you

What happened to the last one? Grin

I said don't ask!

It was going so well, I had an insane crush on him. Then somehow my horse tried to kill him by bringing feet down on his head, and then I forgot the next two appointments. Apparently his last words were 'and she can find herself a new farrier' to the other liveries as he sped out of the yard Blush

Oh dear ......

it's a sod. I struggles to find mine when we first moved away from a yard, but he was newly qualified, so was keen for customers. Smile

Have you looked on the Farriers Council??( not sure if I have that right) website for any near you?

yeah, will do that again - there seemed to be an explosion of them in the summer, but everyone also seemed to be on holiday. I also have difficulty describing where we are even though it has been about eight months since we moved Blush

I really liked the one who was an apprentice or something to our old original one, but don't have her number and her boss hasn't returned my calls. I like the cytek man too but not his shoes.

Can you go to the farrier? If so, Roger Clarke in stoke by Nayland is great, he is a fellow of the WCF, abe really knows his stuff. But it's a good way, he might come to you, you could enquire.

Stuart Rodd's good - he did his apprenticeship with Roger Clarke.

thanks for those, bit of a schlep but will ask - usually people say 'sorry, no, but try this or that person'. I suppose we could go to them, ups the cost fairly seriously though (why are horses so heavy to tow!) with fuel.

Fred Lambert did our shoeing for years and was always great, but is more suffolk/essex boarder..perhaps a bit far.

There seems to be lots of us in Suffolk?!
I think you're thinking of Stuart Garrard who is the dentist and farrier. I have a good farrier who I think has space, let me know if you'd like his number.
Btw can totally guess who your old farrier was!

(for avoidance of doubt I did NOT have a crush on either of the farriers that come up on the IP14 search, although one of them did see one of my breasts at a wedding but that was a dancing accident type thing)

Stuart is lovely but a pain in the arse to get hold of, how he keeps his clients I don't know!
Yup whatever you say Mitchy! Its only because there are very few female apprentice farriers about that I guessed.
Yes I am near, between debenham and woodbridge, might know each other....give me some more clues!
I'll pm you my farrier's number but no boob flashing please!
