You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

@phlebasconsidered

I've thrown the toys out my pram and lost it with slt. Either they refuce my class, reduce the amount of vulnerable/difficult/ebd kids or I work from home with support from my GP who I rang this afternoon.

Class reduced to 16 with a TA for the runner and most difficult ebd . My card is well and truly marked now though and once this is over I will 100% be on capability but I don't give a shiny shit.

Gavin is a complete and utter cock and I bet his wife hates him.

Well done!

@phlebasconsidered ThanksThanksThanks
It's utterly crap at the moment. We had so many children in today - well over 50% and there's no social distancing at all, because it's primary. It's not worth being closed at this rate. Plus those parents who were keeping children at home were phoning up and emailing at the slightest thing. I have no idea how I'm going to keep on top of this. I have to mark all the home learning tonight and all I want to do is crawl into bed.

My x pen thing arrived. Also loving the sexy unnecessary glove.

MsAwesomeDragon · 06/01/2021 17:01

Oh phleb I'm so sorry you feel so got at. I'm glad you lost it though, you can always find another job after this (hopefully, even supply would be better than your current school I think), but you can't put a value on your health. Flowers

Riga that sounds scary! I took dd2 out for a walk at lunchtime and that was treacherous enough. I am really glad I don't have to drive in this weather, and I'm sorry you do Flowers

Appuskidu · 06/01/2021 17:05

Have the unions seen that schoolsweek comment from GW?

I am absolutely appalled.

rainingcats · 06/01/2021 17:13

First day back today - we are teaching our timetables as we would do in school but virtually via teams.
My eyes are aching from being in front of a screen all day and my back is hurting after sitting all day on a hard dining room chair. I imagine the students are feeling the same after a day in front of a screen.

Trying not to complain too much as I know I am lucky to be able to do this at home. Key worker children this time round are going to be looked after by heads of year / PE teachers. I need a glass of wine and it’s not even the weekend.

'Critical' NAHT meeting going on at the moment.

Mrs H that's exactly me kept moving stuff forward. 🤣

cansu · 06/01/2021 17:24

I feel like screaming these phrases at Gavin Williamson and half of mumsnet

  1. Children do not have laptops and wifi to access half the stuff they are getting.
  2. Children can't work on teams etc like mini adults. Many don't have the skills anyway.
  3. I can't answer emails, record video lessons and give feedback all at the same time.
