The irony with everything he was saying about Oak Academy is that parents absolutely would complain if all we did was put up links to Oak Academy!

Some of it is quite good- I used it a bit where I had one off kids self isolating and the videos are mostly quite decent.

Quick lunch break! Judging by a quick scroll on Mumsnet and there are already a wide range of complaints that contradict each other so it seems very unfair to jeopardise an OFSTED rating over one parent’s complaint.
Sigh.

The thing with Oak is any school can now say 'well we did 5 hours teaching. we told them to look at Oak, The govt said so.'...

Where is the EVIDENCE for the shit he spouts??

Oak Academy teachers have been paid £100 per video (at the start they volunteered but July onwards, were paid over August for this year’s lessons) plus given all the equipment needed for the recording. don’t ask me how I know this ha ha!

It’s unfair of Gav to compare what a lot of staff are having to deal with now, with the resources that Oak now have.

I'm trying to work out if
a) I'm incredibly shit at my job
b) My HoD hates my guts
c) My anxiety has made me paranoid
I feel like everything I do seems to piss her off

I've just been watching an Oak video on ancient Greece "with" my lot, it was really good!

We've had lots of Teams issues today, not being able to see calendar button, children unmuting themselves and using chat during worship. Off for a reading lesson now then can unclench a bit.

I've had this feeling before. It does make you doubt yourself a lot.

I (ex forensic linguist ) noticed a weird linguistic quirk that one prominent teacher basher had. Then i noticed 2 posters had the same quirk. Then a third. I’m now up to 7 I have never noticed it before and I really don’t think it’s a coincidence because

a) the error is unusual but follows a regular pattern
b) the error is not consistently made, but when it is made it follows the same pattern.
c) the mad ranty tone

Interesting and doesn't surprise me.

I notice if people are 99% accurate with SPAG but have one consistent error, too. Say, like an ellipsis with a million dots when they don't make any other errors

WE DID IT!! We got through the first day. DH didn't have a breakdown like he thought he would (he was unbelievably anxious about live lessons and the tech and he had a challenging class too. He had a free and after I finished my GCSE class he said to me that it was exactly like a proper lesson, can't say better than that!!

Tax-I am fascinated by what this quirk might be. Am fascinated by SPAG and a bit of a pedant. If you want to share, please PM me with a clue! I love spotting name changers, too.

Random MrsHamlet It can be a very cool job! I found it too hard to find decent work away from London though which was a shame. And the last job I took was worryingly immoral which put me off! But I would love to do it again in the future (just not the immoral one!)

I’m so torn. I really want to tell you all what to look out for because once you see it it’s so bloody obvious, and you realise that there’s really only a handful of prolific teacher bashers, not a ton of them, or it’s different posters with the same copy-pasted shite written by the same us4them person.
