I have always understood that security officers should open the door for their principal because they need to scan the area first and will only open the car door when they're happy.
I'm no expert but it seems to me that H is bypassing basic security rules and I'm just wondering why he is doing this after all the fuss he's made about RAVEC

Harry has been bypassing basic security rules for years:
-announcing schedules ahead of time when not required
-making lots of media noise ahead of time when not required
-refusing to stay in secure royal accommodation when offered but preferring hotels
-rolling down bullet-proof windows in cars
-ordering take-away delivery to a friend's house
-walking along a street ringing strangers' doorbells

The issue is not security; the issue is status.

The pub Meghan was at is near the tiny villages of Asthall and Swinbrook where the Mitford grew up, first at Asthall Manor and then at Swinbrook House.
I visited the church and churchyard at Swinbrook , some of the sisters are buried there - Unity, Diana and Pamela.
I was much amused by these two gravestones.
One pronouncing their relationship, “a cousin of the Mitford”. A well connected friend sniffed and said “Social climbing even after death”!
The other - well I told DD who was with me if anyone ever puts a grave stone like that on my grave I shall haunt them most dreadfully. (Not just a poor effort at poetry but an apostrophe crime!!). Books will be hurled!

Anyway I don’t suppose Meghan or Ellen are much interested in little bits of British history.
