Guess an Ugandan tour won’t be planned anytime soon? 😬

ETA: For those not on X, the Ugandan General’s tweet was:

In order not to be construed as being opposed to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, whom we deeply revere, Uganda hereby withdraws from the invictus games. We shall not participate in anything that does not have His Majesty's approval.

Uganda pulling out of Prince Harry's Invictus Games

The decision, announced by the chief of defence, comes just two months after Uganda said it would participate.

No he hasn't

Well the Ugandan government seem to think Charles does not want them to participate in invictus

Are you familiar with the gentleman who created the tweet?

Have any knowledge around Uganda current events?

Which says all about their reading comprehension...

The Ugandan government say Charles has asked them not to have veterans compete in invictus and they have agreed to the request.

No they didn’t!! Where are you getting this information? , it’s one thing to interpret a news report differently, quite another to add details that are simply not there!
if you have proof of this information please provide it .

RudePhthaloDalmadoodle · 11/09/2026 13:38

This General Kainerugaba sounds like a great role model. Bit grandiose though to say that they're withdrawing when they've never participated - kind of like Libya boycotting Eurovision. Couldn't they had done their research and quietly decided to stay out two months ago?

It sounds like he has a role model in America himself.

I would never treat a world leader’s tweets as being serious.

Wow, you do like insulting people.

It is quite clear what is being said.

That is a leap worthy of Skippy.

Or Mike Powell.

CurlewKate · 11/09/2026 15:10

I would be absolutely amazed if that was what KC3 said or meant.

@TheSparklyGoat no. I had tried to tag the person that was insulting me, but for some reason it didn't post correctly.

OneLilacHedgehog · 11/09/2026 18:21

If the Ugandan government had got it wrong and Charles is happy for them to take part in invictus, then surely Charles would have issued a clarifying statement?
After all it looks terrible that the Ugandan government are saying Charles does not approve of them taking part in invictus, so they are pulling out.

I’m unable to find evidence of anyone insulting you. Unless you are the Ugandan government.

The King will not issue a global clarification to correct the comments of one unhinged tweet.

It will only look terrible to those who take that nut seriously and those people cannot be helped.

It’s not an official government statement in a traditional sense:

It’s the absolute crazy loon son of the current president who has a well known reputation for posting insane things on social media.

He thinks Beyoncé is destined to be his wife and has been threatening Jay-Z for years about it - telling him to hand her over. He even said he was going to petition the UN to make Jay-Z give him Beyoncé.

He threatened to invade Kenya and take it over by force within two weeks.

They only signed up to Invictus in July this year - it’s much more likely that he wanted an excuse to back out because they can’t afford to fund it.

OneLilacHedgehog · 11/09/2026 18:36

Okay so you are just insulting the representative of the Ugandan government as well as me.
I will leave you to it. Insults seem to be the currency of the day.

Mentioning the insane past behaviour of the Ugandan in question isn’t an insult because it’s true.

Please google him - you’ll see his statement about Charles is just nonsense from his own head.

Disagreement about the relevancy of this man who is known to tweet unhinged comments is not a personal insult.

I feel like you are goading here and then accusing others quite unfairly when they dare to reply.

I think at this point you are not engaging in this thread in good faith. It’s impossible to engage in conversation like this.

OneLilacHedgehog · 11/09/2026 18:45

I am the one who was basically called thick by a couple of posters. It's not me who is not engaging in good faith.

GoldThumb · 09/09/2026 22:53

Okay, I’ve been reading more about it, this is apparently par for the course with this guy.
So don’t know if anything should be read into it apart from this a very unserious person.
Humorous but unserious

Who is ???

King Charles supports the games why wouldn't he ? I just assumed uganda run out if money so made up excuse to pull out

harry should not be annoyed with his dad as the kings done nothing ( unless i am told otherwise)

pimplebum · 11/09/2026 18:52

OneLilacHedgehog · 10/09/2026 19:25

So Charles has made it clear countries should boycott a charity that helps veterans? This is awful.

We desperately need a professional head of state. Not an inherited family who bring their family disputes into their sphere.

No evidence whatsoever that King Charles has done anything but support the game's and all they stand for

Where are you being insulted? Why ? Because someone doesn't agree with you ? I can't believe you are still persisting with this line.
