Interesting question! It wouldn't make the civil case disappear, but if he had diplomatic immunity then any 'criminal' wrongdoings that were discovered would be non-prosecutable. But normally if that happens the diplomat in question is quietly posted elsewhere.

I can't see H getting any kind of diplomatic status. His status as a prince isn't enough on its own. They're pretty strict on that and even if he was some sort of 'roving ambassador' for UK trade (or whatever) he wouldn't qualify. You actually have to be functioning in some official diplomatic position. And I doubt very much he'd want a 'real job' in HM's Diplomatic Corps even if he did qualify for one.

Complete diplomatic immunity is only for the highest level; ambassadors, ministers, and the like. The lower tiers have varying levels.

Gerry knows the King well enough to be able to kiss him when they meet. I think she has a position in one of his charities. She also seems as comfortable with the Queen as she does the King.

I was thinking more along the lines of Apple Cider Vinegar given how sour pussed she can be.

And they live in a £9m house which they may well be looking to sell as they were recently considering an upgrade to a £45m estate but someone else bought it from under their noses.

And being so wealthy and having a son who is about 8 they could advise on local prep schools.

I think this ‘lunch’ was a house viewing in disguise but now word has leaked (probably from Geri) the Sussexes are worried a) about the optics of Geri knowing before the King and b) (one of) their desired locations being publicised.

To be fair CH understood what Drive to Survive was about and knowingly played the boo hiss villain. I am not sure H or M understand the medium in the same way and are very thin skinned.

I think people are mixing up 2 concepts.

Internationally Protected Person (IPP) status is dealing with security for individuals abroad.
It is defined in international law (by UN Convention), ratified into UK law by Act of Parliament (Internationally Protected Persons Act 1978).
Harry does not qualify.
At one point he might have done, under Section 5, when acting on behalf of the monarch on a formal royal visit abroad, or when in the household of the monarch.

Diplomatic immunity is different, although the people involved may be the same.
This is where certain individuals have immunities and privileges that they obtain through the Diplomatic Privileges Act 1964 (later extended by the State Immunity Act 1978).
Again, Harry does not qualify.
He is not acting on behalf of the head of state, or in his household.
