Am I the only one who doesn't see much resemblance between Beatrice and Queen Victoria? (Pictures attached)

I've often seen people note Beatrice's resemblance to Queen Victoria as an example of genes skipping generations. Now, you can definitely see Philip's looks I'm William & Harry imo, and there are other examples.

But I just don't see Beatrice as one of them. Maybe this is because I don't like Beatrice and I do like Queen Victoria? But I've tried hard to see a resemblance and I genuinely don't see much of one.

What do others think?

Victoria in profile. I will find a photo face on but these tend to be less clear.

I don't think so, OP. These are some of the better side-by-side images from the Web. I can see what they're getting at, but - nah. Beatrice has much stronger features, and definitely hasn't got Vic's tiny rosebud mouth!

Victoria did not look like those portraits, she was not attractive by any standards.

Beatrice looks nothing like her, she is much better looking. And I bet she isn't tiny and chubby like Victoria was.

Are we looking at the same images OP? I think you can definitely see the resemblance!. Of course it's not doppelganger level, Beatrice has some of her mother in her after all, but it's very close. The narrow pinched nose and the more rounded, bead like eye with the slightly dusky eyelid are both dead ringers.

Victoria's mouth as portrayed in the portraits seems to be slightly exaggerated. But the curve is also similar. Beatrice is less stocky, were she shorter I think the resemblance would be uncanny.

Thank you. . These pictures are nice but I think they were arguably probably the 19th century portrait version of photoshopped. In the photos of Victoria I put, her features look heavier

Victoria's eyes don't seem very prominent in the photos though, more hooded. I think Beatrice's eyes are more like Fergie's

That's mean! I agree Victoria was not especially attractive but I don't agree with mocking her weight. She mainly seemed to put it on after Albert's sudden death.

I agree that they look very different, though.

It's interesting how different posters have such different responses to the same pics. It's fun to discuss- I look forward to checking tomorrow.

I think they are alike. In the eyes I think. Set of the mouth somehow, not size or shape but how they both look around the jawline. Can’t explain it really.

From the actual photos posted not the portraits, yes they do look very similar. Only difference is Beatrice's nose is shorter.

I look very like someone who is famous, I've never thought we were related though!

I see the resemblance.

Beatrice is Hanoverian looking. Genetics are interesting because Andrew isn’t, particularly, and neither are his siblings or parents.

Eugenie resembles Andrew I think.

I don't think Beatrice looks like her mother. Completely different face shape and eyes. The only thing similar is hair colour.

Fergie is related to the royals via one of Charles II'S many illegitimate kids, but no, she's not related to Victoria.

It's interesting: I often see comments saying the royals in general look Hanoverian but imo it's overstated. This ties into how the extent to which they are 'inbred' is overstated.
Yes, Victoria & Albert were first cousins, but Edward & Alexandra were only distantly related, George V & Mary were second cousins once removed, then George VI & Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon were clearly not related at all, & the Queen & Prince Philip only distantly (third cousins and also second cousins once removed). That's not really that much inbreeding.

They aren’t identical by any means but Beatrice has the same weak chin/jaw line and dominant eyes as Victoria and they both have a similar face shape so there is a degree of family resemblance to be sure.

I agree re face, not convinced wholly on the eyes though. Victoria's look hooded and less prominent.

Victoria only shares about 1-2% of DNA with Beatrice, being her 4 times great-grandmother.
