Can someone explain the origins and organisation of the “Sussex Squad”?

I keep reading about them here and I understand it’s a group of H&M (probably more M than H) mega fans who post misinformation and attack those they feel stand in the way of their idols but that’s as much as I know.
Any other information welcome please.

Following as I've often wondered this too! I've no idea!

It’s just what you described - mega fans who mainly on Twitter at first started writing supportive stuff about her and tagging it #sussexsquad.

Lots of them use the word Sussex in their Twitter names or brazen hussy for some reason.

They band together to do charity fundraisers in Meghan or Archie’s names which is the positive side of it.

The negative side which has grown over the years is very dark. Co-ordinated attacks on some members of the royal family - particularly Kate and William.

You can tell when a co-ordinated attack is happening because there are a lot of keywords and identical copy being used across multiple accounts and it spreads out to other social media and comment sections.

I didn’t know they were self titled or that they meet up irl so thanks for the explanation.
How very weird!

Some members are invited to invite only H&M events by H&M - eg quite a few were invited to attend the Invictus ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral by PH. One called Peace has done a YouTube interview on her attendance at this event and her travels to Nigeria on the H&M faux royal tour.

I suspect that some are just genuinely fans of H&M and happy to support them in a positive way whilst others are dark anonymous trolls who show their affection by tearing down W&C.

I don’t think it’s a very cohesive group with clear goals and standards - but there are many who are happy to self identify as Sussex Squad right across the spectrum.

I’ve absolutely no idea who they are and whether they are a cohesive group or not, or where they came from. But if you post anything vaguely favourable about Meghan and Harry on here you get accused of being a member! 😂

Has anyone identified themselves as SS on here?

I think there might have been one poster but I can't remember the name, don't know if they were serious, and anyway there is lots of name changing here.

The Squad definitely started on Twitter and that was really the only place I saw people actively claiming to be a part of it.

Nothing to do with Meghan or the Sussex Squad, but I met Tom Bower many years ago; and let’s just say he is not a particularly likeable character.

They do have an insta page with various delights

Yeah I can believe this. I tried to read Revenge and thought it was a petty, nasty diatribe, same with the House of Beckham. Zero nuance, just a pile on of nastiness.

It doesn't mean he should be harassed. I can think of some local politicians that I have no respect for but I don't call the police on them, threaten them, etc. For all they knew, he was supporting an Invictus participant.

BemusedAmerican · 09/10/2025 18:32

Not to mention that bogus calls to the police increase response time for legitimate needs. I call the police several times a year at my job, and response time really matters.

To be clear, I wasn’t suggesting that it was any justification for harassment at all.

Does anyone know how many Sussex squad people there are approx? Is it a handful or hundreds/thousands?

It’s hard to tell because some I suspect are just fans of H&M who tag their posts #sussexsquad alongside other tags. And others seem to be actively engaging with each other. They’ve raised quite a bit of money in the past so there must be quite a few.

I have been on the receiving end of the SS , they are vicious, it really shook me up.

What happened?

What happened?

I was on another platform and made a comment on a thread regarding H&M , something along the lines of Harry being hypocritical , wanting privacy but happy to out the young lady he lost his virginity to.
Was immediately rounded on , dm's saying I shouldn't be alive, wishing me all sorts of ill, name calling.

BemusedAmerican · 10/10/2025 16:38

@Tubestrike Sorry you had to go through that bullying.

This, whilst they have made mistakes but I don't put them up there with ian brady & myra hindley which means Im in the squad 😆

No. If you were in the squad, and H& M were proven to be the next Fred and Rose West, you'd be sayibg "But William..." and excusing them.

Rhaidimiddim · 10/10/2025 17:59

Dan Wooton fell foul of th SS a few years back, then did a proper-journalism thing into them. He found proof that they were organised, and co-ordinated ( at the time) by a guy called Bouzey and an American academic. If you look.on YouTube, you'll probably still be able to find it.

Wasn’t Bouzey a mate of H&M and on their NF docuseries?

beaniebabby · 10/10/2025 18:03

Is there a word for those obsessed with hating M&H & loving K&W?
