Robbie Williams has confirmed that he turned down this opportunity.

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 16/01/2025 19:18

Ok

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 16/01/2025 19:20

Loads of the big British names did, they had to draft in Americans like Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Robbie is supposed to be friends with Eugenie though.

ThePoshUns · 16/01/2025 19:21

Thank God for that. He's shit anyway.

TheAirfryerQueen · 16/01/2025 19:27

RW isn't very current. I don't think anyone noticed.

Robbie Williams has confirmed that he turned down this opportunity.

Did he say why?

PrincessFluffyPants · 16/01/2025 20:49

The drama! Who cares?

Eightdayz · 16/01/2025 21:03

Robbie who?

Mylovelygreendress · 16/01/2025 21:46

Robbie Williams has confirmed that he turned down this opportunity.

Because he had a prior commitment.

Proof things are going bad for H&M.

Robbie Williams has confirmed that he turned down this opportunity.

Yeah, because he needed the money another gig was going to pay him.

We got Take That though who are always better value.

You know it

Can anyone smell anything? The scent of desperation and panic?

mitogoshigg · 16/01/2025 23:10

Two big names turned it down because they had other commitments and publicly said this was the reason. Many of the people on the bill were not touring at the time

Sorry, are we implying that Meghan paid Robbie Williams to not sing for the king?

No.

It’s a re-run of the line that anti monarchists / republicans / anti Charles posters were giddy about ahead of the coronation.

They posted again and again about all the artists that ‘apparently’ had turned down the Coronation concert gig - implying that it was because Charles was unpopular / monarchy was over.

As we have seen in the aftermath a lot of the people who couldn’t make it were those who were already contracted to other commitments against a concert that was being put together in a fast six month window.

UnderSeptemberStars · 17/01/2025 02:01

It does say something about the mentality of some posters that they have to say things like ‘he’s shit anyway’ or pretend they don’t know who he is, to in some way protect the royals or something? It doesn’t sound like Robbie said anything bad about the royals so there is no need for the defenders to assemble and attack Robbie Williams. It sounds as though he was asked and gave the answer that he has a prior commitment, so those posters can stand down. Question the reason for OP posting this instead as it does seem a little odd.

Happyinarcon · 17/01/2025 02:22

I wonder when people will just stop tuning into the news. Everyone seems to have forgotten that Putin is going to bomb London 🙄

Eh? I genuinely do think RW is shit. There's no subterfuge in my saying that. I have no clue who should have / did/ didn't play at the concert, I watched it but it's a dim and distant memory now.
You really are reaching here.

Moonlightstars · 17/01/2025 08:09

How to turn it down because I couldn't bear doing anything to celebrate the royal family. Lots of people turn down knighthoods etc for similar reasons.

Knighthoods are bestowed by the government these days. Not really to celebrate the royal family 🤷‍♀️

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 17/01/2025 08:27

Ah dear, that probably means he'll reject the invite we were planning to send to him to sing at Mum's party in the summer.

Mind you, it's a small garden and you know what neighbours can be like - hmmm maybe we could ask Jimmy Page instead?

I think Harry's was a gift to him directly from Queen Elizabeth, not the government. A bit like Andrew's 'vice-admiral' status - happy birthday, son, have a gong on me.

I don't hate RW, I just prefer Take That. I enjoy listening to a couple of RW hits, but TT have more I personally like.

Sorry to disappoint.
